New game for the list: Brighter than Day

A fast-paced, single-mechanic, nothing-hidden, town vs scum game (or possibly town and 2 scum if there's a lot of sign-ups), in a similar vein to my Ambience game.

The name is a flip of Darker than Black (an anime), which inspired the mechanic - players are all naturally roleless but can take "contracts" to gain abilities, which vary widely. Each contract has some "renumeration" that you must pay - anything from you must use song titles in your posts to you must kill yourself.

It's pretty much ready to be run anytime.

Based very, very loosely on the Day of the Doctor plot. Here a Doctor, there a Doctor, everywhere a Doctor. Which is nice, which is naughty, which is good, which is evil?

I'd like to flesh this out a bit and run it sometime in 2014 as a mini. I've got great 'background' and 'Doctor/Companion' sets from QuickTidal but he's not a mafia player so I'd also like somebody to help me figure out the mechanics.

As long as no-one gets to be Chinese Electric Batman, or otherwise have a power predicated on manipulating particles/quantum physics with no remuneration, I can see this being quite fun. (The things BK201 could do if he'd only realized his true power, rather than just using it for what amounted to electric shocks...XD)

Of those, I doubt we'll get enough players for Obdi's Dresden game, Bliss hasn't been around Mafia much lately, so dunno bout that, D'rek MAY be ready to run her game, Tapper's been busy at work, but could potentially mod a game, Gnaw's been incommunicado for a while now, and Shin hasn't had much posting time, so dunno if he'd be able to run a game. Could end up being yours if the rest don't/can't run their games yet.

I'll try to keep this relatively short and to thepoint.

I am organizing a "Game of Mafia Champions",which will feature the very best players from a bunch of different mafiacommunities. A cross-site game.

This is a very huge, very ambitious and very uniqueproject. It's an experiment in seeing what happens when different mafiacultures clash. Also, it's a chance to let the best mafia players on theinternet face off against each other.

The first two games of this kind have already beencompleted (almost 30 different mafia sites participated) and it was a hugesuccess in both instances.

I will let you guys decide completely by yourself howyou choose this representative, whether it be by public poll or the modselecting the representative or some third thing. The only thing I would ask isthat you please only send someone who you deem to be a champion of your site,someone who has enjoyed accolades or is acknowledged as a consensus top player.Please no "troll representative"


Extra information about the game:

- The game is scheduled to start March 24. Each gameday (including night phase) is planned to be 2 real life days. Saturday andSunday will always count as one real life day though, so less time intensiveover the weekend.

- There will be 25 players and the game should last about2 weeks.

- As for the setup, it wil be a semi-open setup withpotential roles being listed in the OP - without revealing which are actuallyin the game.

- If your site wants to, you guys are very free tospectate the game. We will also have a spectator chat on Skype set up whichanyone not in the game can be invited to. It was very fun for the first twogames and attracted people from a bunch of different sites.


Note: It really is important that the chosen personcan post every game day. If there isn't anyone on your site who would be ableto manage this fast paced format, then that is obviously understandable .
