Random aside - if one of the old schoolers has some time, isn't planning on playing my Korra game, and could take a look at what I've put together, see if I should make any changes, I would appreciate any comments!

My Legend of Korra game is ready. Whoever wants to go first is welcome to, I'd be happier doing this later in October or early November, but if we need a game, I can run it whenever. Though it looks like Tapper's Tales of the Desert game is next, yeah? Then Lizra's game? And Brujah, how's your Vampire game coming along?
If I am to be next, I'll have to clock an insane amount of overtime to prep formatting and may have to actually leave out a few elements. I've been going slowly but steadily (as you can see from the Encyclopedia thread, of which I could probably wrap up the posted elements this evening), however, there's still quite some to be done, mostly number crushing, re-wording, evaluating, scratching and adding, formatting and other boring but oh so necessary administration.
At the earliest, that would mean a start on monday 8-10. Since I need exactly 19 players, a prolonged sign-up seems fairly likely, too.
It can be done, BUT: the gf is going to claim me from wednesday on for ehm, well, until she's deciding she needs to do some serious work (I'll be allowed a break now and then), or until I flood the agenda with so many of my own no-fun obligations (in her view) that she decides she'd rather do some serious work.
However, since I quite like her, I'd prefer to not force her to do some serious work instead of spending time with me. That in turn means that I may not be 100% ready on monday.
100% up to Tapper, but I threw an idea his way yesterday that could probably be ready by Monday. Which would relieve the ToD pressure for him. TMDI 6ish.

Get in line!
We're trying stick to a low tmdi between each higher. Liz's is 7, I believe. And she's been waiting to go forever.

Oh, I'm not trying to jump in line. There is no way in hell I could mod a game. But yesterday I tossed Tapper a 'think anyone would be interested in this idea' and he replied with a set of mechanics that would totally fit my scenario's concept. Sorry, no intention of stepping on toes. Hell, I wouldn't even get to play in it.

If you want some experience, co-mod the mini I'm about to run. That can get the mechanics for you so you can b ready to do your own thing later.

Always good idea to comod first.
Also, My next game in sengoku I will ask for a comod since my timezone slows the game down a bit.

I would do that if you get enough sign ups.
Thanks for the offer.

Just read tapper's game thingy.
have you considered making this a browser based game? it's definitely fun as mafia, but has the potential to be so much more.

Haha, not really. Good idea, though.
I might look into it (considering I put probably over 250 hours into this already). I think it might actually be "doable" (for someone who is not me) to code this into a TBS with purely the build mechanics, some different role types per faction as play modifiers and the phases. After all, there are few stats and a lot of what happens will merely be checksums.
But for one, I would expect it to be an additional load of work and balancing time that dwarfs my current investment, not to mention outreaches my computer skills by several hundreds of miles. Never to old to learn, though. Secondly, such a game is going to take away a lot of mafia interaction, which is what I enjoy in the first place (seeing a multitude of people interact, balance, counter and guess is such fun).
For another, I am sure the soon as this goes public and becomes a success, people (read: lawyers) will start nitpicking about copyright for stuff I can blatantly insert as a nod to RPGs mechanics, games, books, movies and stories I love, or that bears a resemblance to things I never even heard about in the first place.

You mean I never find the time to run that game because I'm to busy in RL?
I don't have internet at home right now, but I expect to get it sometime this week, so I would like to run my game after the mini, before things get to busy again.

I want to run a game one day. I would need someone experienced to co mod with me, but I would like to do another Vampire the Masquerade game. I'm working on it now.
Also, I need some help with the mechanics, and a few small things. When I have it completed on my end, ill need someone with experience to look it over, tweak it, and especially help me with the abilities I want to use.

Ment and Grief did the last one, I think, so one of them might be willing to help with it.
Thank you, ma'am. I figured one had been done, but wasn't sure how far back, and I didn't see it when I searched. JLV already agreed to help, so I should be good with a few tips from Ment/Grief, and JLVs help.
Aiming at one to two months from now. Also, I'm using some of the characters and/or storyline from my RP thread, so I'd need it moved to Mafia forum to make sure everyone had the same information. But that can wait.
ooh, a masquerade game? let me know if you want some help thru PM.
Though I gotta warn you, the one I ran relied heavily on the game adaptation of the rules (Bloodlines), and stuff I got off wikipedia.

It appeared from the Senguko 3 game that our time zones and sleep cycles work out well. I'd be happy to help you out with that when the time comes.

The game has been over for 6.5 hours and nobody has started a new sign up sheet. Just an FYI to all you pushers.

I can run my Legend of Korra game, but usually someone runs a mini between bigger games. But I don't know if Lizra's game was really a 'big' game so what do you people think?

It was apparently a TMDI 7 so that's not a "small" game. Doesn't seem to be anything small in the queue? I'll run a quick little mini to mess with your brains in-between.

If the mini lasts over the weekend (aka, with a monday start after sign-ups, we'd be looking at a 12 november start), I feel confident that ToD can/shall be run.
