I'm more concerned about him not wanting to go to war with Iran, irregardless of how certain populations want him to become elected.

I'd say all politicians are elitist to some extent. To think people would vote for McCain just because they don't want to vote for the "elitist" Obama seems like a fruitless strategy. I imagine people would then just not vote at all.

Holy Christ Almighty! Obama goes with Biden!

I absolutely love Biden's foreign policy expertise, anyone that watches Real Time with Bill Maher (and thus, for the most parts liberals ) will recognize Biden. He was the guy calling for a 3 way split of Iraq during the presidential election campaigns.

According to the article, he also ran for president (beside 2008) in 1988, which I didn't know.

He is a foreign relations guru, which is obviously supposed to "counteract" McCain's "foreign relations experience".

As a liberal I am happy about this selection. As a Hoosier, I was hoping for Bayh (Sen - D, IN). As someone hoping the Dem's win, I am made very, very anxious by this pick. From my experience you either love Biden or hate him... and Republicans are good at the hate menu.

To be perfectly honest, this selection is what Obama needed. A vetted, experienced foreign policy V. P., someone who has the international world down cold. And yet, I'm not all fired up about this selection. However, the more I think about it the only V. P. I would've gotten fired up for was Bayh because of my obvious state bias.

I think this is a very smart choice on the policy front, which is where Obama is hurting (his charisma doesn't need help!).

I got to work last night at around 6 o'clock and the first table I waited on was a group of 3 people. I remember thinking "that's either Russ Feingold at that table, or his twin brother". Sure enough, when it came time to pay his credit card said "Russell D. Feingold".

Pretty cool waiting on such a well known senator (although if I worked in DC, I'd probably get used to it).

He tips 20% by the way.

I'm honestly interested in what all Americans here on the forum think of the fact, that the whole world does not only take interest in the election but somehow thinks to have the right to tell you who you should vote for. At least here in Germany there is some kind of subconscious Obama hype going on, like that you should elect him to make up for your "mistake" the for the last time.

I did not participate in the poll, because I think I have no right to do it or at least don't want to appear prejudiced/biased.

Dude, awesome! I'd say it was taxpayer money, so of course he tips 20%, but knowing Feingold, there's actually a possibility it WASN'T taxpayer money. Whereas with any other Senator, I wouldn't even question it. But this dude refuses pay raises...

As for the rest of the world wanting Obama...well, I don't blame them. I want him too!

I haven't really run across any instances of non-americans telling americans who they should vote for though.
