Watching Top Gear reruns on Dave.
Its the one with the best van for a bankjob, its comic genious
Hammond:
"I'm going to give it the scandanavian flick"
~crash~
Whats you favourite challenge? be it full lenght (ala driving to the north pole) or just their silly little in show challenges (like buy a car for a grand)
Mine is likely the Arctic Trip for full lenght 12345678
and Motorhome Racing for in show. Video

This probably belongs in the Movie/TV forum, that said... Yes, this is perhaps the greatest TV-show ever.
I think we had a Top Gear thread somewhere, but the thread nazis probably took it.
I like all the big challenges, my favorite is probably the trip through africa or across the english canal

One of my favourite tv shows
I liked the bit when they're launching the cars off the catapult because Clarkson doesn't like clay pigeon shooting
my fave... in the arctic trip.. "We're not drinking and driving - we're sailing on international waters"

I found it hilarious that on the first part of the journey across the north pole, Hammond was practically killing himself running with the sled for 12 hours a day, mean while Clarkson and James are just sitting in a nice warm car getting drunk
Of course they weren't so very happy as soon as they reached the crazy ice area

I rather enjoyed how they were trying to destroy a toyota Hilux and no matter what they did to it it would still go after only a few minutes of attention from a simple mechanic with a normal box of handtools.
Flying Monkeys definitely win.

Yeah I started a thread with a link to that and can't find it now...
Anyway, he is a several orders of magnitude above win in awsomeness.

It is up there in shows most definitely.
I like the way Clarkson wax's lyrical with the most absurd insults he can imagine.
" This car wallows round corners like a hippo, pregnant, in a tutu, on a train wearing a pink hat and suffering from Delhi Bellies " , said Clarkson.
" Cut! " screamed the director, " Jeremy! That's not a car! That's our guest, Britney Spears! "
" and on that bomb shell, good night everybody ", JC
etc

"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

I can't remember how I made it through weekdays doing nothing before Top Gear was on Dave. Such a funny show, my favourite endeavour of theirs was the 24 hour race at silverston in that old diesel BMW, it had me welling up by the end of it.

I agree. Excellent production values (music, camera, editing) plus three hilarious grown up children messing around with the coolest cars there are.
As for the challenges... I think the Amphibian Car ptII when they try to cross the Channel and end up blocking the harbour entry

THe hilux has made me crave owning a toyota truck forever. That one show probably drove up worldwide toyota sales overnight.
My fave is the trip across the US south with "country music is rubbish" and "hillary for president" and something about Nascar sucking spraypainted all over the cars. Then they pull in to buy gas, the attendant calls them faggots and "the boys" come to stone them out of town. Literally pitching rocks at the film crew.
I knew a new level of win when I saw that clip. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Awesome show. Great laugh to watch. I don't know which episode is the best, but the one with the original carboats has to be up there.
Plus, whoever does the music needs some kind of medal, routinely fantastic choices.

I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

The one problem I have with Top Gear from the last series is that it's moving away from actually reviewing cars etc, to just three blokes mucking about in generally car-related ideas. Not neccessarily a bad thing, but it would be nice to see a bit more of the old Top Gear still. Still great fun to watch, of course:)

It's absolutely great, EXCEPT when they make the fixing of events obvious enough to dispel the illusion that most of it isn't set up. I don't care that it is faked, except when it's done so blatantly, like in Top Ground Gear Force. Other than that, it's funny as hell.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Clarkson is the man, if that expression has any meaning. Which it might not. Anyway ...

I loved it when they pointed out to Hammond that he couldn't even see over the top of his van.

The Stig taking public transportation in the race across London at rush hour was great.
