More likely that the Nascent touches on Shadowrealm, somehow. The borders are rather frayed, after all.

Yes but shadow touches all the warrens and stuff routinely appears from the other realms such as the barn where minala and her children lived so the same probably happened to the catfish.

The catfish probably started off in the Kenyrrylah world then when Ruhald redirected the river they were redirected with it into the nascent. The catfish probably just appeared in the shadow realm at some time or another like everything/one else e.g. Barn, chicken or kilava (see NoK)

Does anyone else think the catfish could be K'Chain Che Malle young? After all, we know that the K'Chain life cycle starts off in the sea - and we see the catfish shed their skin when they come on land, and out comes a familiar-sounding lizard thing....

The reason the catfish are in the shadowlake is because Olar Ethil helped Kulp make a hole from the Nascent into Shadow in DHG. It's the same water.

im not aware they went thru shadow also.They went thru a tellan/liosan warren.Hence the Firewall/Skin Buffer
