You don't necessarily have to bust someone out of an Azath, mostly you can stroll in or not get in at all. Icarium nearly destroyed one trying to get in, but other characters have simply rocked up and walked in.

You know something I've come to realise? Most gods in the MbotF are pussies.

MbotF? ,aybe, there is an even bigger god no one knows about that is using the gods as tools? maybe he's got a really great sense of humor making them seem like pussies.
how does someone "rock up" to a building exactly? those that did however, would have had at one time to gain the respect of the azath to do the said "rocking up"
are the gaurdians created by the azath, created for the azath, or chosen by the azath?

MBotF = Malazan Book(s) of the Fallen
The Azath choses it's own guardians and makes it's own deals. This is seen in NoK and MT.

ok then. when the azath were babies (far-fetched i agree) someone had to watch over them while they built the actual house to prevent undesirables to kill them before they even began. maybe this patriarcal figure (or matriarcal) chose the gaurdians way before they were needed

What partiarchal figure are we talking about? The Nameless Ones?

Some hypothetical entity in charge of the Azath. (Pure supposition.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

correct. the nameless ones could be the ones but i doubt that they would claim themselves as masters of the azath in mixed company...
unless of course, the azath have been there since the beginning of time (and dark) and the first azath can watch over the baby azath in the few minutes it takes for it to build itself.

The name of this thread is driving me crazy! Can one of the Mods please correct the spelling?!?!
The Azath seem to be completely separate from the Elder Gods/Gods/Ascendants etc. They are their own governing force.
