watching top gear re-runs
at the start of the show, the 04 mustang, a 4.8 litre v8, 300 bhp
at the end of the show, the 04 evolution, a 2 litre engine, 400 bhp
thats what I mean by uneconomic overengining in america
Whart the hell are they doing with the other 2.8 litres?

again with the no memory of posting but as usual I stand by all statements made by my handsome self.
Seriously, why does ford feel the need to dump that size of an engine into a mustang? I mean its really freaking ridiculous

Yay! 10 years of sweet relief! Won't matter though, because Global temps will still be on the rise even during this "cooler" period. Man we are fucked!

Depends on where you live.
Feel bad for everyone destined to suffer though :D
The leader, his audience still,
considered their scholarly will.
He lowered his head
and with anguish he said,
"But how will we teach them to kill?"

Thanks xander. That is bad news. I was going to say before, I think your big cull will not be caused by a pandemic, but rather by a collapse in the ecosystems we depend on. :D

Exactly. A lot of these idiots that believe "climate change" and "warming" are myths don't understand that every ecosystem is connected and by killing smaller, "less important" organism you are just starting a deadly chain reaction.

Which is one of the reasons I am wont to discourage you from the technology over all mentality. Too many people think we are awesomely advanced when in truth we are terribly fragile.

I can see that point of view. Our technology is by no means infallible.

We'd be a far more "advanced" species if we learned to solve our differences peacefully. It would also say a lot about humans if we didn't waste so much damn materials and energy on needless shit.

Our technology is nothing. We have developed means merely to increase our numbers nothing more.

That's where you lose me. There's a lot more grey in this subject than black and white. Technology, like many other aspects of our society, has it's good, it's bad, and it's debatable.

My point is that if you step back and look at the actual ground level achievements of all that we have done since the industrial revolution (or even the start of farming) it amounts to this:

There's now a lot more of us.

That's it. All else is in your head or mine and matters not at all. Cars, I hear you say, planes, trains and ships? Nothing more than tools to increase our numbers. Computers? Mobile phones? GPS? Same. Space shuttles, satellites and telescopes? Same, same and same. Particle accelerators, neutrino receptors and electron microscopes? All nothing but tools to help us understand the universe better and utilise it to make us more successful as a race and as individuals. What does this mean? There are more of us. Nothing more than that.

What do you propose, CI?

What's your solution? What do we need to do?
