I've heard the potential prize, it sounds promising but Brood and Xander will need to discuss how to steal the TtH script  Er...I mean, what I really meant to say was: Perhaps the prize will be good.

SHHHH!!!! :(

But seriously, I'm going to get together with Brood and Dancer on this and will post everything in the next few days. Sorry I haven't been around as much lately. Work has been "busy" to put it mildly :D

I've started on mine already.
Looks ok.
Needless to say, I'm leaving some room for a little poetic licence.

That is to say, I'm making things up as I go along.
Get to the chopper!

Before making a start, is there going to be an event, scene or specific character that we're all going to do or is it whatever we want?

Scene limitations are being discussed. They will be pretty loose though, most likely.

Ok so we will use a balance of a forum poll to decide the winner along with a judge panel of myself, Brood and Dancer.

Deadline is May 31st.

Originality of Scene will be taken into account by judges.

Must be scene, not single character (depending on success of this contest, the next one may be a character)

Scene must portray battle/conflict/argument of series

More forthcoming......

To clarify a few things:

A poll will be posted for votes initially, and then, depending on the number of entries and how the poll plays out, Dancer, Xander and myself will judge between the top two or three from the poll results.

The scene can be any sort of confrontation at all, from the Battle of Pale to Kellenved getting chucked out the window of Mock's Hold to Kallor and Brood arguing outside the command tent. But orginality of the scene will be considered by the judges, ie. Battle of Pale will win very few originality points, but a lesser known scene will win more:)

The prize for this contest is, I like to think, rather nice, and currently sitting on my shelf glaring at me. It is malazan-related, and worth a bit too. On top of this, we're working on getting the picture posted on the main page of the site.

Tell your friends;)

Are stick men considered jokish?
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

I will reiterate what Xander and Brood have said:
  • Scene orientated work portraying battle/conflict/argument of series.
  • Deadline: 31st May.
  • Poll will be posted initially, but the judges will make the final decision as a team, their involvement depends on numbers and circumstances. (originality will be taken into account)
  • The prize is malazan related, and should be appreciated.
  • No joke entries.

Are multiple entries allowed, as long as they're serious?

I don't see any reason why not, provided they're in by the deadline :o

Just a quick update, it's looking fairly likely the winning entry can be posted on the site main page :o

That's cool ... now are you guys willing to give away what the prize is going to be? As an added incentive, you know.

Seriously, it would help me know if it's worth pushing out my two big, serious works in time, or if I should let them collect dust a bit longer and just do something light-weight.

Assume it's worth it :o I think it is, personally, but I'm a bit strange in the head.
