As long as it is Malazan inspired, I agree Stabro. After we see how this contest goes, we can expand on the options, sound good?

Ok...so you guys need...what 3 weeks?

A month? I need a suggestion from everyone who wants to enter the contest.

Oh and Dancer has asked to be a judge. If you enter obviously, you can't be a judge, so we need to decide that as well...

I think my talents would be best used to judge and to lend a considered opinion rather than embarrass myself in a flurry of activity which will help to create a monstrosity.

I'm a kind judge on the positive side of things.

Alright. Also, we could have a poll after the entries are completed, that'd be an easier way...but people have to take it seriously........

for me, no less than 3 weeks. a month is ideal, but probably too long for some peoples taste.
I can fit 3-4 one or two hour painting sessions into a 3 week span, which is enough to complete a decent finished painting.

So what is the subject? Do we pick whatever we want or do you decide for us?

Hey, good idea. How about making a poll with a number of characters and then we post in progress and finished work to a separate thread headed with the characters name? The first post could contain descriptions taken from the books.

So, Xander, you wanna set some firm rules on this?

I'd recommend a deadline a decent bit out - say, end of May.

Shame we probably can't devise a decent prize.

The winning picture posted on the website? People still visit there some times, right? Yes? And make it an external link to this part of the forum, for poeple surfing the internet in search of Malazan fan-art.

Or something else entirely.

I'd enter if it wasn't the middle of term. I might still give it a try though the chances of winning would be pretty small.
Flying Monkeys definitely win.

I've heard the potential prize, it sounds promising but Brood and Xander will need to discuss how to steal the TtH script  Er...I mean, what I really meant to say was: Perhaps the prize will be good.
