Did draconus name the sword? or is the sword named Dragnipur with its new owner... I just saw in TTH the first time ive seen the term dragnipurake For Rake, that i can remember... had me wondering for some reason. I know Vengence changed names based on owner.

The family name is Purake and Dragnipur is mentioned nowhere.
So the name is Anomander Purake.
It is easy to visulatize the name being modded through history. Anomander Purake weilder of Dragnipur could easily become Anomander Dragnipurake.

The sword is named Dragnipur, I'm pretty sure it's named by Draconus but I can't quite recall. Rake is variously referred to as Purake, Irake, and Dragnipurake (there may be others I'm forgetting) throughout the series. I'm not sure exactly the first time he's referred to as Dragnipurake, but I think it'd be early in the series; at a guess no later than MoI and probably within GotM.

Interestingly, it's not obvious that he's named for the sword. TTH spoilers:

What I think is probably the earliest chronological naming of Anomander as "Dragnipurake" occurs in a flashback in TTH, when Mother Dark forsakes the Andii:

"I forsake you, Anomander blood of Tiam, Dragnipurake. I deny my first children all."

Here, the name Dragnipurake seems connected to the phrase "Blood of Tiam", and it reads as though Mother Dark is giving him that name. I don't think he would have the Sword at this point (though I'm not 100% certain of that), so it seems possible that the name and the sword have the same root, without one being named for the other. I think I've discussed this before on this board, but I can't seem to find the post or remember the conclusion that the discussion reached.
