From MoI we learn something about the souls he has within him:

EDIT: (Warning do not go browsing in the Encyclopedia if you are afraid of spoilers. Quicks entry doesn't have any real spoilers for after MoI, but still)
We do not know who the last 2 were, there could have been an Andii in there... but it's probably not important.
Just because he uses KG does not mean he has to be an Andii. All mages can (or should) be able to access any warren available for usage. Being racially linked to the warren will probably give you an advantage, but with enough skill and study even a midling mage should be able to access KG.
As you can see one of the souls he has was a Mistress of Rashan, which is the House version of KG.

- Narkal, the warrior-mage, sworn to Fener and aspirant to the god's Mortal Sword
- Ullan, the Soletaken priestess of Soliel
- Set'alahd Crool, a Jhag half blood who'd once driven Dassem Ultor back half a dozen steps in furious counter attack, his sword shining with the blessing of some unknown ascendant.
- Etra, a mistress of the Rashan warren
- Birith'erah, mage of the Serc warren who could pull storms down from the sky
- Gellid, witch of the Tennes warren

There are some indications in the latest book that he does though, although not appropriate to talk about in the MOI forum. I think there is a decent chance he has some link to the Andii, especially considering Rake's interest in him in MOI. I have a hunch that he is or has some link to a pretty prominent Andii.

im on hoc right now. jus finished moi the other day. really liked it.
i was really impressed at the end with what he did with the seer. do we ever get more backstory to those souls within him later in the series?

nothing so explicit as WJ's story in MoI. just juicy tidbits that leave us slavering for more.
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

hmm, I had thought Rake's interest in Quick was simply because he sensed something peculiar about him, which WhiskeyJ confirmed when he told Rake about Quick housing the multiple souls. This link hunch to a prominent Andii is very intersting indeed...

One of the reasons that Quick Ben might not want Rake to pay too much attention to him was that Tattesail states that the magic Quick used to shift Hairlocks soul into the puppet was of KG, it would have been the same magic he used on the other mages in 7C.

I'd assumed only Andii could use KG; I'm not sure why I thought that, likely because of the whole
I'd forgotten the soletaken princess, could lead to an interesting soletaken QB transformation.
Or, more likely, he turns out to be d'ivers mules of shadow.

In Memories of Ice, Quick Ben is called, if I recall correctly "desert snake" by the old Deck of Dragon reader he visits in Pale. Later on in the book, there are few occasions on which QB is referred to as a "snake". Of course this does not definetly say anything about his soletaken form, but gives a few hints
