you ever watched the first one with the Director commentary?

its hysterical, Verhoeven spends ages ranting at various critics who reviewed the movie and, in his eyes at least, didn't get it.

Also takes issue with some critic who wrote that he was "unintentionally invoking fascism", lecturing that as he saw Nazis marching up the street when he was a child there is no way he'd put an unintentional invocation of fascism in a film. Funny stuff.
meh. Link was dead :(

Sequel was not Verhoeven. It really had no business even being a movie.

As far as the first movie, nothing beats Doogie Howser in an SS uniform

Doogie was ridiculous in that outfit.

I just loved the horrible death scenes. Those bugs were bloody powerful!

Yes, doogie saying he just took some E, asking about finding some stripper, and humping a seat beats him in an SS uniform.

The first definately had that it's so bad it's good feeling. This one doesn't.

They even stole dialogue.

The Roughnecks animated series was awesome. That is all.

Yeah, a cheatin 'ho.

Rico is the man, and what about his big dumb blonde sidekick that's more teeth than anything else....classic.

That's Gary Busey's kid.

I hated Denise Richards after that role as well.

Bump for good measure.

I watched it today.

It was pretty bad, not unwatchable like ST2, but not rough and tumble like ST.

Rico was a real faggot in it also.

There was a second one? Well. I did not know that. The first was enjoyable enough, I guess.

You mean you watched ST3 and it was just bad. Not hilarious bad (like army of darkness or ST1), and not oh god my eyes bad, but just a bad movie?

damn.

Exactly. :o

I was a huge fan of the first one, and when I heard they got the protagonist from that film back, I was hopeful. But it just fell flat.

I'd still recommend watching it if you liked the first, but don't expect much. They wasted alot of potential.

The entire franchise is firmly in 'so bad it's good' territory. Heinlein is imploding in his grave.

- Abyss, still pissed they cut the scene of the brain bug crawling out of the general's head in the first one.
