Hello. This might be kind of a re-post, but I didn't want to read too much through this forum as I haven't finished the book yet.
I just had to say. I think chapter 7 of this books is one of the most powerful 80 pages that I have read so far in the malazan series. Wow!!! Especially Bottle's group and their journey. Wow!!!! I felt like I was with them until the very end. I especially liked the dream scenes and the way he jumped through the perspectives of so many people in the group.
Very powerful stuff.
Anyway I have to get back to the book.

If you don't mind... what goes on there?
Is that when they are on the ships? Sorry if that was a spoiler, probably already know though....

Yes it was the entire siege of Y'Ghatan (and the subsequent escape). I liked the maturation of Corabb's character as he wasn't doing much for me in the past 2 books he was in.

I agree, this was by far the best chapter of the book. Or at least the one with the greatest impact. The feeling of claustrophobia was very well portrayed.

I thought that honey-thing was a bit freakish though... but I guess SE had his reasons

By far my favorite chapter in the series. That was inspired writing.
