Feel free to spread the link as widely as possible around the web. If it works, and people read it, then a) we may be able to put up another book and :p sooner or later they'll simply let us give away the book in electronic form....

I'm one of those authors who is fortunate enough to make my living from the things I've written. If I thought that giving books away would make it so that I could no longer make my living from writing and be forced to go out and get a real job -- or that other authors would be less likely to be able to make a living -- I wouldn't do it.

As I tried to explain in the Guardian interview, the problem isn't that books are given away or that people read books they haven't paid for. The problem is that the majority of people don't read for pleasure.

So for those who always wondered what the fuss was about, or weren't convinced enough to buy it, or have even never heard of it (where have you been  ) then now is your chance :p Just to confirm, it is the entire book, complete with cover, copyright pages, dedications, the lot, so it's a bit annoying to have to scroll down for about five minutes until you actually get to the writing, but there we go...

Awesome! I now feel vaguely guilty for getting that illegal .pdf version months ago! Granted, I did read it from a library first, but oh well. AWESOME!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Really? I voted for Fragile Things.

It's much easier for me to find enjoyment from short stories in MSReader format.
I've already read AG too.
