Resurrecting an old thread...because SMALLVILLE aired its series finale tonight...and while it wasn't a great and action packed finale, and the big bad is only kind of used as a catalyst...the main reason the finale existed was to set up Clark finally as Superman and the rest of the mythos...
...and it totally did that, no part moreso than the last ten minutes when he dons the iconic suit, flys, and they play the John Williams score music!!! The music alone makes me love the ending.
Anyone who doesn't want to watch the whole finale...here's the best bit (Note, the flying and dealing with Darkseid actually happens just prior to this clip...but this clip has the Williams score)

I have to say, I found the finale to be a massively underwhelming experience. Aside from the donning of the suit and the airing of the john williams score, it lacked any really interesting action at all.
