My ARCs of Paul Kearney's The Ten Thousand, Greg Bear's The City at the End of Time and Melinda Snodgrass' The Edge of Reason turned up.

Is 'City at the End of Time' related to his Eon/Eternity series?

Did you get the omnibus? It's the way to go, they're short books. Only having one will do nothing but get you interested and then pissed you have to go back out and get the others.

Hope I'm not spoiling anything or breaking too many IP laws, but I bought Glen Cook's Chronicles of the Black Company (The Books of the North omnibus).

I don't think my copy was there for the equipment inspection... and... SPOILER ALERT At least that's the case for the first two images.

Still waiting for mine, damnit. I've got a bunch of Waterstones giftcards. My in-laws give them to me, butt there aren't any near my house. I'm saving them up to go on a huge spree one day. That will be a good day.

Bought Richard Morgan's Steel Remains today. The synopsis looks atrocious, but I'm ignoring that for now...

Steel Remains. Loved Morgan's other books so I hope he brings some of his great style and characters to fantasy with this one. Got to finish TtH first...nearly there...

Anabasis by Xenophon
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell
