Have anybody read Stardust by Neil Gaiman?

I have not read anything written by N.G. I have seen his name mentioned too many times by some posters on this forum.
Does he write fantasy?
I saw today Stardust with a hude discount, hardback edition, I wonder whether it is any good?

Thanks.
AL.

Stardust is a nice book. Good though... odd.. Prefer neverwhere and American Gods, yet the book is still far far above average.

Bought the Years of our War by Stephen Swainston ... i'm not sure whether I like it yet

Fan_83: so, it's a different feel but still good? I hated her retake on the LoTR series-- it was just too derivative, esp. after the Kushiel Tryptych (to quote the faggery in her book jacked on the third book :-D).

The change of persona is what makes me intersted in it. Avatar, to me, was a flop: did nothing for me. Of course... ahem. Yeah. Nevermind. It was a "flop."

Yeah.

ANYWWWWWAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

I just bought A Clash of Kings again. Just reread A Game of Thrones (finally) for the second time-- I got hooked, this time, as opposed to reach the Arya/Sansa/Nymeria/Lady big-notable-point and just gave up. I'm smacking myself, wondering how i gave up on that book back when I was first attempting a second read through.

So, yeah. A Clash Of Kings. I have other books, but they're fluff. The Chandler stuff (still lost on my floor) I need to finish reading. Short, succinct, and sweet.

I'll go away.

Of the first four books (that I've read) the third one was the weakest. The fourth one picked up immensely as it gave Alain something decent to do and Liath was hardly in it. Unfortunately there was like a two-year gap until I picked up the fifth book and lost track of what was going on in the story, so for next year I plan to start from Book 1 again and read all seven at once.

Oh well, I read the whole Terry Brooks collection. So I can handle this :)

And its not so much that the books bad, its that she could have made it so much better. She has the talent but she wastes it on bad characters and weak plots.

I have a strange way of reading some books. Even if they are really terrible; if I like the author i'll probably keep reading.

gah!!! Blasphemy! Do you know just the level of crapiness those books will force upon you?? The basic but incredibly accurate summary of P&P is: nothing hapens for sixty one chapters and then they get married. Bah i say!
