I read at least the first of these years ago (possibly the first two), it was the first of Stirling's work I came across, though not amazing it was enough to get me to read some of his original work (which I think is generally better). That said there are still some scenes in it that I remember pretty vividly, and I read it over 10 years ago. Pretty easy read as I recall.

James Joyce - Ulysses (some new edition with revised annotations or something)
Mark Lawrence - King of Thorns (I'm behind with my reading on this series, but since I started with the mmpb of Prince, I shall wait until Emperor is available as mmpb, too)
Ruth L. Ozeki - A Tale for the Time Being (not what I usually read, but the title got stuck in my head and it seems to have good reviews)
Aristotle - Poestics (just because, and it was cheap)
Tim Powers - The Anubis Gates

Not purchased today, put in the past couple of days, so I guess it counts.
Puck was not birthed, she was cleaved from a lava flow and shaped by a fierce god's hands. - [worry]
Ninja Puck, Ninja Puck, really doesn't give a fuck..? - [King Lear]

Trying to get through so many episodes of it is hard, so I've taken to reading the manga for ONE PIECE....so today I grabbed vol. 24 and 25 to do the Skypeia arc.

Okay, I finally broke down and bought Ex-Heroes, since Amazon made a (slight) price reduction. Also surrendered to the buzz surrounding Ready Player One and John Dies At The End. Found several DC and Wildstorm comics cheap, Eliss's Stormwatch among them. God bless Amazon marketplace and Abebooks for making my addiction much less expensive.

Went on a bit of a tear at audible - bought Promise of Blood, Great North Road, Diamond Age, American Gods, and the Troupe.

If it helps BK, the most anticipated EU book that takes place before ANH is coming out next week. KENOBI by John Jackson Miller.

Have been waiting MONTHS for that one. :D

JJM is the SHIT!

I just want my EU I've been reading since 93 and spending $thousands on to remain intact. I added it all up after ep 7 was announced. Crazy amount of $ I've spent.

It's intact. don't worry about canon, just know you enjoyed it. :D

I'll be interested to know what you think of it...I always balked at it in the store cause it just seemed so dense.

Will do. I was similarly put off, especially because the series has this weird not quite connection to his NANTUCKET trilogy which i couldn't find anywhere.

BUT... i found ISLAND IN A SEA OF TIME (Nantucket bk 1) in a 2HBS a while ago, so it was sitting in the TRP, and i generally really enjoy everything he writes, so finding this entire series for a few bucks was too good to pass up.

Coincidentally, i found the rest of the NANTUCKET series two days ago, so all told i have 11 books worth of this series standing by (plus a few of his standalones). I hope it's good... i really really enjoyed his PESHAWAR LACERS but THE DIFFERENCE ENGINE (w/ William Gibson) just annoyed me.

I'm early in EMPORER OF THORNS, then Aaronovitch's new one, THEN must finish RIYRIA and THEN i suspect i'll start this.
