Cherie Priest's BONESHAKER and DREADNOUGHT, because zombies + steampunk + Warren Ellis repeated reco = BUY,
and whatsisname's QUANTUM THIEF because forumites keep raving about it.

Sho-Gun - Loved this book it is on my top ten list. Not a noble house book though.

Tai - Pan - This is one of my favorite books ever. Just a great read. This is the introduction to the Noble House line and man is it good.

Gai - Jin - This was the last of the Noble house books written and ties up some louse ends but doesn't tie up the big one that I was looking for. It does bring the Noble house to Japan so there is that. I always felt that he was going to write another book after this that covered one of the periods between here and Noble house. But he passed away before that could happen.

King Rat - Not of the Noble house line but takes place in Asia and is brilliant.

Noble House - This one took me a little to get through the first time I read it. I was 17 at the time so that might have had something to do with it. I thought that it started off too slow the first time I read it. The second time I thought that it was great.

Whirlwind - This takes place in Iran and I was never able to finish it. Not because it is a bad book but because it wasn't in asia and it took a while to make the noble house connection. Other people who I know have read thought that it was a great addition to the Noble house line.

I dunno... the original is pretty solid. Not sure this will benefit from a remake. High risk of better swordfights but worse acting.

It is going to be hard to beat Richard Chamberlain as John Blackthorn. I foresee them doing horrible things. The original was very good.

Read King Rat it is completely different then any of the others. It was based off of his personal experiences in Changi prison camp during the war. It is really amazing. It was also written before any of his other books. If you liked Sho - Gun then wait until you read Tai-pan there is a reason that all of his following novels included descendents of the Tai - pan and involved the Noble House.

I was gonna try it Chronologically instead of Pub order. Good idea or not Vengy?

I would read them Chronologically the later Noble house books have spoilers for Tai - Pan. You have started on the right path. The only book where it doesn't matter were you read it would be King Rat which isn't a Noble House book.

The Air War i'm now 4 books ahead in my collection of Shadows of the Apt, i'm still missing Blood of Mantis and Salute the Dark, need to get these 2 to continue my read,

Because my TRP needed more stuff, really it did.

Yeah I got it too. It sounds interesting and the author is kinda active over on reddit's fantasy section, so based on what he has said about it, it is worth a look. If you like signed bookplates, which are cool, Brian is giving them out from Here. There should still be some left.
