Yuna, make sure you read magician apprentice, then master and the rest of the riftwar before the kings buchaneer.
in fact if you can get them cheap Id recommend the following feist reading order
magician ( apprentice and master) - silverthorn - a darkness at sethanon - the empire trilogy - honoured enemy - (if you want to then prince of the blood - kings buccaneer) - serpentwar saga (minus book four). then stop and back away from midkemia carefully. Maybe throw in the two Krondor books if you love the Arutha era.

ETA
in regards to the dragons path, I just found the whole book wanting, didn't really connect to or care for any of the characters. Story was solid enogh for a beginning I guess, I've heard good things about the long price quartet so was curious if it was similar.

@Macros:
thanks, I'll be sure to follow your reading order suggestion, RE Krondor books, what exactly of those, as i already have Krondor: The Betrayal, which should I add, Assassins or Tear of the Gods?

or did you mean Krondor's Sons? (Prince of the Blood & The King's Buccaneer)

well, if I could get the later books in cheap price, then its not much of a loss, haha, and I still want a very light read in the midst of my gritty books, just like what I went through Abercrombie's Best Served Cold, and I already know Feist jumped the Dragon Shark after Rage of the Demon King, as abyss said,

It's not who I am underneath.. but what i do that defines me - Batman, Batman Begins; 'Without our deaths, sir, there would be no crime. Thus, no punishment to match,' 'Mortal Sword - '
'We are done, my friend. Now, in this manner, we choose the meaning of our deaths' - Mortal Sword Brukhalian to Veteran Nilbanas, siege of Capustan
'Ippen shinde miru (want to try dying this once) ?' - Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)

Just got the 4 book box set for A Song of Ice and Fire series. Heard good things about the series and thought I'd try some other fantasy series. (In between MBotF of course.)

@yuna

krondors sons are indeed prince of the blood and buccaneer, I was referring to the book titled Krondor: betrayal, and Krondor: the Assassins. I'd recommend avoiding tear of the gods, jimmy the hand and anything chronologically after Rage if a Demon king.

Nearly completed my Dresden files collection today with Changes, Ghost Story and Cold Days. Only missing side jobs now I think.

ddn't get Forge of Darkness on my birthday, but instead i got this books:

Red Country - Joe Abercrombie, more JA goodness, or is that grimness,:p

Theft of Swords - Micheal J Sullivan, (been wanting to read this one for so long now)

& The Rats and the Ruling Seas - Robert VS Redick, back-to-back read with Wooding's Ketty Jay

got a book slump this past week, it's one hell of series of events before and after my birthday, so now its over, i'm back on business, still with my 3 reads of Hobb, Lynch and Feist:

Assassin's Apprentice - i got teary eyed on one event :p

Lies of Locke Lamora - this i got many LOLs :p

Magician: Apprentice - its easy read, i'm deciding to finish this earlier than i expected,
It's not who I am underneath.. but what i do that defines me - Batman, Batman Begins; 'Without our deaths, sir, there would be no crime. Thus, no punishment to match,' 'Mortal Sword - '
'We are done, my friend. Now, in this manner, we choose the meaning of our deaths' - Mortal Sword Brukhalian to Veteran Nilbanas, siege of Capustan
'Ippen shinde miru (want to try dying this once) ?' - Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)

picked this up on the 2HS:

Assassin's Quest - Robin Hobb

Honored Enemy - Raymond E Feist & William R Forstchen

- will definitely add this to Macros' suggested Feist reading order, and speaking of Macros, the book Apprentice has gotten me more interested now that i finally got to read about Macros the Black, and since i'm down to 100 + pages left, i'm finishing this earlier than expected,

Just bought Colin Buchanan's Farlander cause both Abyss and Polish recco'd it which means it's solid. My TRP has grown to the point to where I'm suspecting it may soon challenge me for control of my house (just kidding, the wife has that).

picked up on the 2HS:

Brothers-in-Arms - Lois McMaster Bujold

&

Krondor: The Assassins - Raymond E Feist

a little crappy purchase for now, just chanced upon it, hopefully i could finally get my hands on my other pre-orders, like Forge of Darkness, Blade of Tyshalle, Tigana, A Shadow in Summer, and others,

Just downloaded A Ball of Beasts, which is A Feast for Crows + A Dance with Dragons combined into ereader format. The chapters take place chronologically for the most part, with only 4 or 5 being shifted around in order to avoid spoilers (such as
Spoiler
). And yes, I own hardback copies of both books, plus the Kindle version of A Dance with Dragons.

It'll be a bit before I'm through the first three books, but I'm interested in seeing how much reading the two books together changes my view of their quality. I've read a few reviews where people say that the two books work really well together since they're very thematically consistent.

My friend also ordered either Crack'd Pot Trail or The Wind Through the Keyhole for me since it was my birthday a couple of days ago, so I'm eagerly awaiting one of those in the mail.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

Definitely let us know how this changes the experience.

Just ordered Shogun. Pretty fucking excited about this one.

Good choice, I read it years ago and still remember it as a book you really live.. as it progresses and you learn the culture as Blackthorn does. Might have to look at that again soon myself.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

all this peer pressure broke me and i got Ex-Heroes and Ex-Patriots, because superheroes vs zombies + multiple forum recos = hard to resist.

Will most likely hit those once i'm done w RED COUNTRY.

I had a SF/Fantasy-free visit to Waterstone's yesterday and got:

The Mauritius Command by Patrick O'Brian
Desolation Island by Patrick O'Brian
The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy

I was originally going in for Lonesome Dove and Shogun, but they're both so massive and my shelf space is limited, so I might have to get the Kindle editions instead.

FUCKING A! I've been thinking while reading and watching how nice a modern tech reshoot would be and within a day you've brought me great news!

I dunno... the original is pretty solid. Not sure this will benefit from a remake. High risk of better swordfights but worse acting.

I liked NOBLE HOUSE, tho it's a very different conflict from SHOGUN. Haven't read the others.
