So he forgot a comma. Cut him some slack.

I'm sure he's already spanking himself because of it anyway. ^_^

Worst employed?

As in an author that gets paid to write; which isn't to knock all the horrible fan fiction our there that is infinitely superior to Newcomb 's work as well.

I'm not just not sure if there is a writer in the history of the genre that is as bad as Newcomb, that was backed by a major publisher (not to mention through multiple books). I rag on Eddings, and absolutely can't stand Paolini, and Brooks etc, but Newcomb just takes the cake.

OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula LeGuin, which I've never read before but was first recommended to me about 20 years ago by my father...better late than never!

On an even more promising note, I ordered the hardcover of The Thousandfold Thought which shouldn't take more than 2 weeks to get here, and even if it might not be absolutley accurate, they said the hardcover of The Bonehunters would be there Feb 28th!! (Sounds SOOO much earlier than March 1st ;)) WOOT! For an Australian bookstore, I think they're doing fairly well to be getting these novels so early...although it remains to be seen if they can deliver TBH when promised.

Good to see that Crown of Stars is finally complete. Got a bit bored of it after the fourth volume but slowly working up the will to read the fifth and onwards to the end.

The books I bought today were:

American Gods: Author's Preferred Edition by Neil Gaiman
Look to Windward by Iain M. Banks
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrel by Susanna Clark

Although I doubt I'll get round to any of these before The Bonehunters comes out: 3 weeks tomorrow people!
