Well done Liverpool, and well done Olympiakos!

Now all we have to hope for is Chelsea to have to go to extra time at Stamford Bridge, injuring their whole squad in the process. :p

@Grumble: Is it really that obvious? :p

I am actually quite worried now. As an Arsenal fan, I've seen us chuck highly promising seasons away at the final hurdle, and I see the signs repeating themselves. On the plus side though, we're still on for one of the earliest St. Totteringham's day (the day in the season Sp*rs can officially no longer catch Arsenal) in a good many years, which is a plus. :p Just 5 more points will do it!

I think you will have to make do with *just* the Premiership this year !

*sighs wearily, tries to remember what league title trophy looks like*
*No, nothing*

Im not sure we'll win that to be honest, but we've only ourselves to blame if we dont. I reckon Man Ure will nick it by a point, but Im fervently hoping Im wrong.

The Old Trafford game is crucial. Even a draw there, and I think the league is ours.

*remembers the last time we won it and grins inanely*

You're not wearing any pants!

What date is the Man Utd Arsenal game? I think Man Utd will win at Old Trafford, just.

So, we played well, should really have scored at least once. Adebayor should have put that header away at the death, I nearly gave myself a hernia jumping out my seat.

Still, it's all to play for in the second leg, with no real advantage to either side. Game on!

You would have to say of all the british teams left only Celtic are in real trouble in terms of result.

Chelsea at home should progress easily.
Man Ure got out of jail late ( sounds familiar ) but may still have a scrap on their hands they just don't handle Euro pressure that well, shaky at the back.
Arsenal can only score away goals now but this game is too close to call.
Liverpool still got a job to do but best placed to do it.

What do you all think ?

I agree with your analysis Grumble.

Chelsea should go through, Man Utd are in a reasonably good place to do it although 1-0 would have been a disaster. Arsenal need to score and draw to go through, it's definitely doable. Liverpool should definitely go through especially if they score.

Im glad i didnt watch the football last night looking at the results. Although perhaps the Celtic game was quite good?
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

The Man Utd game was reasonable, Man Utd should have 1 or 2-0 up at half time to be honest.

The 2nd hald of the Arsenal game was brilliant, we had huge spells of complete dominance and looked threatening alot. Their legs definitely started to go at the end, and that's likely to happen again home or away.

Just seen this pic, may explain why Adebayor missed- there's about two foot of shirt stretching with that pull! Enough to knock you off balance with a header at that pace.

Liverpool through as expected ..... I would prefer to see them avoid a premiership team in the draw for the last eight as our style is much better suited to play the continental sides.

I hope the draw leads to no english teams playing eachother. That would be interesting and it would give all four of them a chance to progress. If all four proceeded it would get boring after that despite history being made.

If all four proceeded we'd have more English teams in the semi-final of the CL than in the FA cup. Which would be odd to say the least.
I doubt it'll happen though. I hope it's not us who gets an English team though.

I dread an all english final, it'd be just like the pool to get there then through it away against the scum. And living with 3 united fans that would be unbearable.
For a team thats toppig serie A inter weren't exactly awe inspiring, but niether were liverpool.

So eight clubs left, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United Barcelona, Roma, Schalke 04 and Fenerbahce. I think it's very likely than an English team will win it again this year. Favourites have to be Manure or Barca.

I know, but seriously that was highly unlucky for both Everton and Spurs. I would have liked to have seen both teams do well in Europe.
