Thanks for the pics Pat, nice review of Cryptonomicon, it is one hell of a tortuous read...well worth it though.

QUOTE (Stalker @ Jan 23 2009, 01:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

The rooftops scene was drawn at the same time as the Bridgeburners pic. Which is why Kalam and Quick Ben look exactly the same as in that image. But based on your comments, I'm persuaded that Komarck made the adjustments...

As I said on the blog, the Kalam/QB pic looks absolutley brilliant, provided they're made black... and the new Raest one is much better now! Komarck was a really inspired choice by SubPress!

Looking forward to it so much, wonder if it'll even be ready for my birthday in 2 weeks:D

I think Komarck was Steven Erikson's choice

Looks awesome...
Does anyone know if they'll continue with the rest of the series?
The leader, his audience still,
considered their scholarly will.
He lowered his head
and with anguish he said,
"But how will we teach them to kill?"

A few pages back it's mentioned that Komarck doesn't see the same delay with DhG...that would be awesome.

Who would you like to see on the covers of the next limited edition installments? I'm thinking:

DG: Coltaine (or someone else from the Chain of Dogs)
MoI: Kallor or Caladan Brood
HoC: Karsa Orlong (who else?)
MT: Scabandari Bloodeye (or another Edur, like Trull or the Warlock King)
tB: Icarium (with the hulking shape of Mappo looming behind him)
RG: Silchas Ruin
TtH: Kallor (if he's not on the MoI cover. I would love to see what that grey bastard looks like) or Shadowthrone (with or without Cotillion)

I don't know whether this is the appropriate place for this kind of discussion, but I couldn't resist...

Also, I just read on the subpress website that they might not be able to fill orders from large online retailers. I ordered my copy through amazaon.com, should I be worried?

Yes. Be very worried, Subpress isn't even a real publishing company. They are operated by the nigerian prince who needs our help to get his cash out of the country. It's all a lie. Even what I just told you is a lie.

As with all limited print runs, it's definitely best to order direct from the publisher - risky otherwise.

I'd love to see the Sengars and Beddicts on the cover for Midnight Tides. Might seem a bit crowded though.....

Usually artist are rarely on par with how I imagine people, but this looked so good I just had to buy it :)

Even though I have some explaining to do vis a vis the mrs, 142$ for a book I already own, have read and talked alot about; apparantly seemed strange.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it, and the wait isn't bothering me. I wait litterally years for new books all the time.

Keep in mind that all you've seen so far (other than the cover art) are only sketches... :)
