When Paran was stabbed by Sorry in Pale... he was taken to Hoods gate, and the twins tried to save prevent his death to add 'uncertinty' to shadowthrones affairs. The twins then talk to hoods messenger (i dont know whom) to try to trade Parans death for anothers:

Who does Hoods messenger trade Paran for??? ... I dont remember anyone that close to Paran dying. im rereading most of GOTM now, but I cannot find/remember for the life of me.

Ive read all the way up to RG... but it could be anyone. I was thinking it was Feslin... but she didnt really die for no reason...

The answer to that question could be any number of ppl. Felisin, Tattersail or his parents. Though since tattersail was never really taken I think that throws her out of the question and from the glimpse we get of Ganoes's past we're told that he was not close to either of his parents as they were rarely there. Thus leaving Felisin as the only likely candidate in my opinion.

And I'm moving this to House of Chains simply because you can't discuss this w/o mentioning her death.

As far as I remember, and I suggest you make a search since this has been discussed like ten times, people settled on it probably being the adjunct or the father who died because of Ganores.

After reading the link... im agreein with the parents being the ones taken in his place... they are meaningless, and close to Paran... and the Dad dies from grief that Paran is missing...

A) Someone close to him was to be taken...the very reason that his parents are meaningless is why I don't think it was them
Paran's dad didn't die from grief, tis what I think at least...it was probably more from the family having been shamed with Ganoes being called a traitor with the rest of One Arm's Host
also his dad was suffering already in Gardens as is stated in the conversation between tavore and ganoes. So...meh...dunno

but that's just me, I'll just keep thinking it was Felisin I like to believe that.

I'm of the opinion now that it was Whiskeyjack...

A "premature" death, "meaningless" in the fact that he could have had that leg healed anytime and it was because of that that he died, regardless of what Korlat says to save his honor. And if you'll remember, Paran blesses the bodies at the end of HoC... And we all know what blessings do.

yeah and in beginning of GotM, Paran met Wiskeyjack and wanted to become just like him and that brought him in the army. what about tatteersail?

I still think that "exchange of souls" means:

you can come back to life NOW, and we'll take another soul in your place RIGHT NOW. Not in a few months or years, whenever Hood gets round to it. NOW.

That's why I think it's wrong to propose Whiskeyjack and Felisin, even Tattersail. They all died significant periods of time after the resurrection, in the case of Felisin more than a year after.
