It certainly looks like the Wolves kept the option on re-Toc, but honestly, after the Brys finger-revival, imnsho, enough already. Great character. Great storylines. He's dead, please SE move it on.

Toc is the only character that could come back without it seeming contrived. The entire point of his character is to be "killed" (or otherwise removed from the plot at hand) only to return later. I would love to see what happens to Toc next. He's one of my favorites.

I'm pretty sure we saw Karsa "Ascend" in RG. He was definatly on the path to ascention beforehand

Several books ago, I would have been inclined to agree. Since then we've been reminded several times that NO ONE really ever dies in the sense of ceasing to exist--even if their ghost goes through Hood's Gate, they're still the same person they were before. (This kind of begs the question of where souls come from in the first place, since they don't seem to be recycled/reincarnated a la Steven Brust's Dragaerans--except for the Wickans, who "reiterate." Is the number of entities/souls in the Wu universe monotonically nondecreasing with time?) That makes it a little less hokey to me to have e.g. Kuru Qan still around post-death.

I am a little bit puzzled by the Brys thing, though, since aside from Ganoes Paran and now Hedge he's the only truly "resurrected" character we've seen in the series so far. Unless he's still dead, like Shurq Ellale?

The truth stands revealed... Toc the Younger is Kenny from SOUTH PARK.
