Just got the book in the post today and am a couple of hundred pages into it.

Although I feel a bit foolish for posting this (for all I know, it's already been discussed, but I looked around a bit first and I see nothing), I'm wondering: how come the glossary only contains people, place names, etc? Why no high house/hold members? I always like to see how they change from book to book.

It was set on Lether, which explains the absence of the High Houses (the same was true for the MT glossary). It is curious that all the other usual detail is missing though, after all the MT glossary had a summary of the Holds taking the place of the Houses.

Anyone noticed that Knuckles or "Sech..." as Killy almost reveals isn't in the list?

Neither is Kilmandaros. There aren't any gods, or even individual people, in the list. It's just a list of groups, positions and places.

Well, I'm glad to see it's not just me. Honestly, I was so surprised at the lack of gods/hold info that I wondered if it had been a printing error and if a supplementary pdf would be available online - although I also acknowledged the possibility that SE left it out intentionally, in case it gave too much away (however this never seemed to be a problem before).

It's probably a pagecount problem. The book is pushing the top end of what publishers like to put out, so they cut the glossary for space.

I agree...

With the length of this one, I figure that the publisher decided to cut on the glossary.

I was sad to see it cut.

And it would have been a pretty long glossary too, because both Houses and Holds would have had to be included, as both are used...

It was disappointing, aye. It's hard to keep up with all the different Hold positions that exist. When someone is proclaimed "Saviour of the Empty Hold", you can pretty much tell where that fits in the grand scheme of things.

"Janitor of the Messy Hold" is not so easy.
Don't fuck with the Culture.
