As I recall there was both a trip where Rake travelled with QoD (before she ascended) and one where he travelled with Envy.

Rake, Brood and T'riss, then Brood went off and T'riss ascended to QoDhood. After this, Rake, Osserc and Envy went adventuring!

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Maybe there was a leaving party for T'riss and Brood, where they got to meet there replacements (Osserc and Envy).

There was music, disco light, a buffet with sausage rolls, and a bit too much to drink. Under the influence of a few carafes of chilled Jaghut wine, Osserc and T'riss got a little close on the dancefloor then retired to the toilets for a little bit of fun, involving an egg whisk and some wet celery.

Bobs your uncle, 9 months later out pops L'oric.

Problem solved.
