Most of Ublala's remarks were hilarious:

"They'd never find her if it was a manhunt. Look, she's got breasts and stuff... " (pg. 193)


And the meeting with Menandore, when Shadowthrone forgets he's standing next to Hood and says:

"Blood dripping from a flower, for Hood's sake - oops-... Humblest apologies, Reaper..." (pg. 125)

I like all the lawyer (or "advocate") jokes made by Hood and Shadowthrone. In fact, SE seemed to make fun of them throughout the whole book.

Also, when Rucket exclaims that people like their women thin to make them look like children, and a scene later, Tanal Yathvanar thinking I like my women thin.

do you have the page number for that line of Rucket's, i've been trying to find it without any success.

I enjoyed the scene where Cotillion and Shadowthrone sent QB, Trull and Onrack away and at the end where ST says 'it is as Cotillion suspected. The Rooster died of grief' also the explanation of Cotillion's explanations was amusing.

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I was a little let down by the Tehol/Bugg interactions. They weren't as good as previous installments, and seemed more forced. I still looked forward to each one though.

Personally I thought there was too much humour in MT. Oh well.

As for RG...

The bit when tehol is discussing his soup to Ublala when Bugg walks in with Janath over his shoulder and Tehol says something like," Really, Bugg, that'll never fit in the pot".
That really cracked me up, somehow.

Thank you for writing yet another book that can be read several times, without getting boring. I always look forward to the next book in the series, you are my favourite among the 80 living writers in my list. I do hope you get almost as much pleasure from writing as I get from reading your works.

Corabbs War cry whilst attacking those Demon Farmers is so far the funniest bit. Granted im only now halfway but there you go:

I chuckled over the entire page (170), and this line in particular, for like 10 minutes. :)

Hellian, holding the line for her squad to retreat, like a hundred angry Edur readying javelins to throw... readies her shield, realizes it's a keg lid (a KEG LID!!!! lol!)... "I wasn't issued this!?!"

The way the abundance of black-skinned Dal Honese freaked out the Edur.

Corabb planning his own glorious death.

The one sole ref to Nefarias Bredd in the book.

Fid and Hedge meet again, Hedge confirms he's alive, Fid cuffs him.

"Who's our best crossbow shot?"
"You are, Fid."

Shadowthrone on advocates: "I was going to have them all executed... the royal advocate talked me out of it."

- Abyss, also comepletely agrees with the two Tehol moments ARake ref'd.
