anyone else find themselves giggling at the lines describing Shurq Ellale?
I actually burst into giggling out loud at the line "essence of putrescense"
genius.

Yeah, this one had some damn good lines in, and the Tehol Bugg conversations were awesome too. I'll have to look through it again, but everyone staring at Gilani's ass, as well as Tavore flirting with Shurq, were great.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

aye, I did giggle a lot. Humour without being over the top as it was in tBH.
Bugg and his musings, Tehol, but also a lot of other things..

The only "haha" moment so far was when Bugg went down the stairs to the hens, and compared it to a temple. Otherwise the attempts at humour has been rather poor and non-funny. Especially the puns. Gods, the puns...

I like puns.

Oh, puns can be great. But not SE's. They're rather forced and horrible.

i think the scenes with karsa were hilarious
like:
"you made this cursed weapon?"
"i did"
smack
"dont do it again" lol classic and the ever present "i'll split you in two" i think karsa is a comic genius

I laughed at the discworld reference. The cosmic turtle bit. Caught me completely off guard.

Lots of amusing parts in RG
Highlights ...
- Most of Hellians drunken antics
- Those unlucky Farmer Demon Princes
- Masan Gilani's horseriding
- Karsa, as always

I thought the numerous references to drowning Bugg were very gigglesome (new word), i.e. my siggy, and "you'll Drown one day"; "That'll be fun".
'Emperor Tehol Beddict', sat on the throne in his blanket...what could be funnier than that?

I didn't think Hellian's bits in BH were funny at all, but I laughed at a lot of the things that happened to her in RG. Go figure.

Humour is dead, I guess. I guess after MT I was waiting for some more Tehol/Bugg action, and wasn't ready for the different humor presented in BH.

"Oh, since we're discussing important matters before the Adjunct arrives to say goodbye, I was thinking that Preda Varat Taun needs an able Finadd to assist his reconstruction efforts and all that."
Brys straightened. Finally, they were getting to genuine subjects. "Who did you have in mind?"
"Why, none other than Ublala Pung!"
Bugg said, "I'm going for a walk."

I thought Tehol and Bugg were a lot funnier in MT than in RG. Apart from the scene with Ublala and the chicken in the pillow. I don't know why, but that had me giggling for ages.
Hellian was certainly the most consistantly funny character in the book.

Tehol
"Time, I think, for a more proper welcome to our fair city!" And his blanket fslipped down to gather at his feet.
Tehol
Page 598: Tehol held the chicken out. "Here, then. We never really expected the ransom in any case."

ok.. I can't find it! but there's a line about Shetatha Lore's skin being the colour of dusk because she's been buried in millennia of peat. (when the three sisters unite and got a surprise from QB)
peat.. that was damn funny.
