This is my Whiskyjack.
Couldn't find any solid descriptions of him, so I used my head.
The broach is taken from a description in the start of GotM. (Startrek-like, as my brother and a few others have pointed out to me). :heyhey:
I know it's rough around the edges, but I get into it, then get uninterested. Please feel free to be a critic:)

I think he looks cool! Not too crazy about the pink shirt though, and his cloak looks very stiff, like it's made out of metal.. but the face is awesome:)

I like his face (especially the eyes) and I love the way you finally gave the visual form to the Bridgeburners broach. It's really cool.
But I agree with Grimhilde that the shirt could have been... little less pink. Not because I have something against pink, but the shade you used is a bit too... strong.

Damn that damnable pink shirt! I thought Whiskyjack was a modern man?
Seriously though, I thought that was the colour that the Bridgeburners used. (It's not meant to look so pink).

There are a couple of solid descriptions, but one thing they all agree on are his gray hair, gray beard, and gray eyes. Just so you know.
gray gray gray gray ... that word just looks weird now.

So no brown beard then? Wonderful. Maybe SE made a mistake. Talking of mistakes ... isn't gray spelt grey? Might be why it looks a little weird.

Firefox keeps putting a little red line under grey to tell me it's mis-spelled, so I'm going with gray.
And where did you get brown beard from?

So, you're succumbing to inferior American spelling?

Just checked it out. Grey and Gray are different ways of spelling the same word. Same word, same meaning, and now I feel like a right old dumbo.
On the beard, I kinda knew it was gre(a)yish, but had the feeling that it was still kinda brownish. He just didn't seem old enough to warrent a full grey beard, as per ... Ken Bates. I bow to your better wisdom.

I like the art, but agree about the sigil. It looks like a communicator from Star Trek: TNG.

I remember vaguely that magenta was mentioned, but I think that was Tayschrenn's cloak...I'm not sure about the Bridgeburners though, maybe crimson?

I always imagine it to be a salt and pepper beard, brown dotted with grey.
Loving the picture, the face and eyes really capture WJ's essence. It was the breasts that made me chuckle. (not that they stand out or look weird, just my eyes pick up on odd things like that).

Those lumps are where he kept the spare bandages for his leg...
I confess, it took me about 12 hours to paint the face, and about twelve minutes to do the whole rest of the painting.

the malaz uniform is magenta, but whiskeyjack and the bridgeburners' were described as being so faded as to be nearing grey in a few scenes. Erikson loves grey.

The Malazan colors are magenta and gray. I don't have a reference of the top of my head, though.

This is what I thought! Check out the colour they give you on Wiki when you type in magenta. PINKish.
