Malazan Empire: Tlan Imass V Jaghut - Malazan Empire

After reading the book i find that the Jag are really good guys loners that want to be left alone.

So why did the Tlan Imass hate them so much, is it because of the Jaghut in GOTM that was tombed up.

He was contralling the tlan imass and did he put the a hatred in them, also it says the jag all got to geather to defeat him.

If the tlan are so wise and old why didnt they work this out, instead they tried to wipe out the Jaghut.
