Those two have totally got to hook up. Trull didn't go with Seren because he wanted to stay and help Rhulad, but we know that he ends up getting Shorn and all and taking off to other places and such. I hope we don't have to wait too long for that little love story, and I hope it doesn't end up being tragic.

nothing goes as expected in SE's books. Nothing ever gets a perfect, complete happy ending either. So I'm guessing that this pair will be... as tragic as it's already been shown - missed opportunity. That's one big theme I'm getting out of here. Sometimes, when things are missed, you just don't get them back.

I agree with Fox...love is not meant to be rational, especially not in fiction. The idea of love at first sight definetly occurs a lot, whether or not it makes sense hehe. I really want Trull and Seren to get together, they seem well matched...both are lonely, lost soul-type characters.

uh, comparing all the couples in SE's books... Trull and Seren's is touch and go. Quick as lightning in its first spark and development, then, well, of course I hope it doesn't or hasn't already died (Book of the Fallen! depressing enough of a title, Keruli. SE must have it thought out to justify killing everyone in the end. oh, is he?) maybe a quick reunion or a forever doomed love..

Compared with the other obvious love story between Apsalar and Crokus, Trull and Seren's has this element of intense feeling that I don't get from the AC pairing... as if there's this fire burning inside you.

I agree, Blewin. Apsalar is so distant and unfeeling most of the time, building a wall between her and Crokus to "save" him. But with Seren, we get her admitting a a burning desire for Trull almost from the start. I hope their's isn't a short lived flame.

Seren and Trull are an adult couple whereas Apsalar and Crokus are young and inexperienced (minus Apsalar's cynical heritage...) couple. I think that accounts for some of the differences at least. A&C a slow and innocent thing, S&T a raw animalistic and passionate thing.

And talk about a love that just doesn't make sense...Pearl and Lostara Yil! I haven't gotten far into tBH, so I don't know how that one ends up, but it's an odd one for sure. And speaking of Apsalar, and tBH...

I'm only about 4 chapters into it, but that one moment of sexual tension between Apsalar and Cottillion was....interesting, to say the least. And quite odd, considering...

uh, I didn't think of that, Keruli, about Trull and Seren's age as compared with Apsalar and Crokus. Not sure about describing that love with the word 'animalistic'..... but yes, certainly passionate. Love isn't logical!

it'd be interesting if we have a thread on all the couples in TBH forum, Terez, then we can discuss about all that's happened to heart's desire. haha. yeah, Pearl and Lostara's one is just.. oh, I think I'll do just that, wanna jump to TBH?

Memory may be shoddy, but didn't Seren and Trull meet way back when she went to the Edur village near the start of the book? They we're noticing each other back then and they probably just subconsciously thought about each other (Can't remember whether or not they actually talked). I don't think it was a touch and go for those two. Hell, Trull didn't even notice what he did, did it all subconsciously (Or was pushed by the Errant, who knows). They just got the shaft and are unable to live their lives.

Brys, I thought the meeting at the Edur village was their first meeting? Seren hadn't really gone anywhere since they saw each other at the village, then after that, she was off getting Baruk back to Lether, and the war started... Seren and Trull didn't even talk much in the village (though she was attracted to his silence), and all of a sudden, at the parting, they felt for each other.
