I've never been the greatest fan of Apsalar at any point in the series, I mean she's not bad...But she was definitely better as Sorry, scaring the BB's like that

i do agree in where you can not like her. especially with the whole thing with Cutter. She does seem a bit bitchy at times. And personally i like Kalam much more. Aspalar may have turned her half of the claw into bloody mist in seconds, but Kalam was much cooler and awesomer when he killed his half.

YES, you say it!
I mean, I didn't like her as a person, but I enjoyed reading about Sorry as well as about Apsalar and she definitely has good moments. Her storyline with Cutter and that she reveals more about Dancer to us, that's cool and this way she adds to the story. But I don't see any point in Apsalar turning half the Claw into bloody mist and all her whining about her being an assassin and all.. That's annoying.

I really quite dislike Laseen, I don't know about everyone else but she's doing pretty well.

Incredibly difficult poll and I attribute this to two major factors. First being Erikson is a great writer and can create hated characters that are just that and the second reason is no one likes people who never shut up about their problems. At the end of the day though I chose, big surprise, Pormqual. I will not say his title cause he doesn't deserve it.
This is why I despise him and hope Hood thought of something very creative. He's responsible for the disgustingly pathetic and easy death of 10,000 malazan soldiers. I'm a guy who hates waste and calling the massacre a waste is putting it lightly. I suppose some blame falls on the captains but Pormqual's the one who couldn't put two and two together. When you think about it every other slaughter in the malazan series had a fighting chance but under Pormqual's unders the 10,000 had none. There you go.

Went with Korbolo Dom. Such an easy character to truly hate, but ya almost have to admire his complete and utter arrogance! Especially in
Spoiler
. I guess the Myhbe to a certain extent annoyed me with her incessant whining, but the purpose she served seemed to make it worthwhile. Plus i admit, i would be none too happy about becoming very old so very quick either, and it wasn't like she could do much about it other than whine, being withered away as well as relegated to the back of a wagon for most of a novel. She's earned the right to scorn IMO!

Really funny that the Crippled God is the least hated character of all of these. Not really surprising because of what he's suffered but amusing nonetheless.

It's probably because the CG isn't outright evil. He just has his own philosophies and ideas, which, while still nasty and bad, make sense from a certain point. Credit to SE that the Big Bad can be understood.

And Dodger reminded me of someone I had almost managed to put out of my min, Clip, he was arrogant and annoying before he got possessed, he got worse after.

cmon guys, y is kruppe in this? he's cooler than alot of characters. in fact, (i know you're goin'a kill me for this)....i think he's cooler than fiddler, and that's my honest truth and im sorry to say it. i jsut find fiddler somewhat annoying, and any plots around him are bland and dry.

I have to agree, but I still found him the most annoying simple because reading anything with him (especially from his PoV) was really, really tedious. So thats why he's on my most hated list. Funny character concept, but don't make me read another Kruppe Monolouge. (even his dialouges are monolouges ffs.)

Pormqual was, to me, simply a weak and cowardly character acting to his natural gullibility with Rel playing on his fears. I actually hated the idea of the malazan noble class more than him as an individual.
Rel is a classic ambition driven conniver, and in the end I enjoyed his parts in the series and especially RoTCG.
Now, Dom is another matter. He got my vote. He clearly had some cunning to be able to survive for a while in the malazan miltary heirarchy, but in the end every time he opened his mouth I just wanted to fill it with my fist.
Still, if the Mhybe was on there I don't think there would have been any debate.
