World War Hulk sucked. I really enjoyed Planet Hulk too. Bummer.

Pretty much anything from Garth Ennis kicks ass. Had to buy all Preachers when I read the first one.

Hellblazer is a good series, but I don't seem to like Jamie Delano's ones.

And of course, Sandman. All I'm lacking in my shelf is the Absolute Sandman 3. Quite pricey. Here's a series that has something for everyone. However I have not enjoyed the couple of Gaiman's books I have read. For example American Gods had a good beginning but it became quite ridiculous after a while. His style seems to fit better to stories with a comic approach.

Finished Volume 13 of The Walking Dead (review on my blog) and now I think I'll continue with the Marvel catching up. Almost done with Secret Invasion, then on to the rest of Young Avengers (the Presents, Secret Invasion and Dark Reign tpbs), followed by Siege and the newer X-men. I'll probably loose interest halfway through, but it's till nice ambition to have :)

Finally finished Supergod. My brain is full of fuck.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

That Supergod ending was a bit... "Erm... What the hell just happened?" But I guess it was kind of set up right from the start (this is from memory, as I haven't reread it as a piece yet) It was fun, challenging and most certainly a very different way of dealing with the superhuman.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I am currently intrigued by the new DC revamp title THUNDER A.G.E.N.T.S which is significantly badass and WAY better than I ever thought it would be.

I am also greedily picking up Dark Horse STAR WARS LEGACY: WAR. Yay!

...and clocking into the WTF category:

Ms. Grundy from Archie Comics is going to die from a bout with cancer in an issue early next year.

I liked it better when the Punisher hunted Archie.

I'm currently getting Alan Moore's Neonomicon, which is published by Avatar Press (it's apparently a direct sequel to Moore's The Courtyard, which I haven't read). As with pretty much everything from Avatar, it's very graphic stuff. Alan Moore's take on living in a Lovecraftian universe

I'm probably the only one, but I am REALLY looking forward to DC Comics FLASHPOINT mini-series. DC is doing the Barry Allen Flash character right by centering him in his own mini-series, ALA Blackest Night.

They should have done him right by leaving him dead. But no, Geoff Johns has a hardon for the Silver Age so it's all Barry and Hal all the time.

Meh, I always thought that Wally and Bart were lamer versions (even though I grew up with Wally West) of the Flash anyways, so I don't mind it. That said, your bone to pick is not with Johns anyways...as Grant Morrison brought Barry Allen back from death in Infinite Crisis, thus re-entering him into the DC-verse.

Also, I shall hear no disparaging talk of Johns. He is awesome. :(

Your bone to pick is with Danny "fuck you" DiDio. Much like Quesada at Marvel, he decided DC comics should revert to the way it was when he was a boy and did as much as he could to ensure that happens.

Anyway, from what I gather Johns is making the Flash a sort of GL-franchise for time instead of space? Or has he started on that already? I haven't been following but I like the idea of that, if it's done right.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

That seems to be the plan for FLASHPOINT, centering a DC-verse-wide mini-series on the flash.

The fact that FLASHPOINT is being so highly pimped as 'Blackest Night for the Flash' leaves me think this is a really bad idea.

Johns spents ages building the GL storylines, good and at times bad, through Rebirth, Sinestro Corps Wars, the new colorcorps, Blackest and then Brightest. Flashpoint seems like a hackneyed attempt to jam years to plot and plan into one big yet entirely badly conceived crossover - much like most of the really bad one shots that showed up around Sinestro Corps War and Blackest just for the sake of having a Green Arrow (or whatever) crossover for completists to waste dollars on.

Color me sceptical.

New kids comic Kirkman is doing. Saw this piece at Newsarama.

Having just read most of INVINCIBLE and pretty much loved every page of it, i would read almost anything he does.
