That's not true. Some are just offensively retarded. I'm looking at you, Crossed.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Thta's sort of the point... grab Kirkman, give him the marvel Universe to play with, make it dumb, and the fanboys will buy, OH how they will buy.

I borrowed the first and second trades from a friend and I'm just not feeling it. I'm not a huge Marvel fan so maybe that's the problem.

Curse you, Abyss! Now my review for Gyo is completely ignored :p And it's way worthier than zombie comics! :)

I got the latest edition of Batman and Robin today. Bruce Wayne is back! And how....
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Gyo is plenty disturbing (as is the Enigma of Amigara Fault that's often collected with it, DRR DRR DRR) but I still prefer Uzimaki (or however it's spelt, the spirals one). I think Darkwatch should read both of those before making a final decision on the mangos.

Are you a comic book fan who hates Manga? Or a Manga fan who objects to them being referred to as comics? Or just being overly pedantic...?

Sequential panels of static artwork designed to tell some sort of story with or without speech, captions and/or sound effects; Manga just happen to be the Japanese ones, like Manhwa are the Korean ones and Manhua are the Chinese ones and Bande Dessinee are the French/Belgian ones. All of them, good, bad or indifferent are, for want of a better term, comics (or graphic storytelling, or whatever...). Getting worked up about the distinction between them all seems a bit pointless to me...

Finished. rather clever if predictable. It's interesting to see JMS, known for big massive world/universe wide in scope stories, do something that's really about one man in the weird.

Nicely done story, a bit of a mindfuck. The action isn't really the point but well drawn even so.

Enjoyed. Worth the $.

I don't like manga, but really just being pedantic.

I see them lumped together quite a bit, which I don't really like, since despite being the same type of way to tell the story, they are a completely different style. Kind of like newspaper comics vs comic books.

I agree with you about the stylistic differences; Scott McCloud covers this in a chapter in Understanding Comics, which I found rather fascinating.

I still disagree with making the distinction, though. It strikes me as being similar to saying that novels written in the 1st or 2nd Person are not proper novels, as all proper novels are written in the 3rd Person...

It strikes me as overly picky. But each to their own, I guess.

Same medium, but I consider comics to be the traddtion 10 inch by 7 1/4 inch (with some variation depends on what age).

I also consider newpaper comics to be different.

I think a better example would be say, a serialized online novel VS paperback novel. Well the same idea, I still consider them different.

Hang on...? By that definition 2000AD (a UK anthology of six page, A4 strips, some ongoing, some not; that has been published weekly for the last 30-odd years - for the uninitiated) isn't comics. I think we're talking an unusually narrow definition here... :)

And it's only my definition of traditional comics. I know most people won't agree with me.

True.

But I really enjoyed the zombie Fantastic Fours appearance in Ultimate FF. Evil Reed Richards is pie as fuck.
