Hickman's EAST OF WEST.Holy fuck.HOLY FUCKING FUCK.
Just marathoned the four collected trades and HOLY FOUR HORSEFUCKS OF THE APOCALYFUCK YOU ALL NEED TO BE READING THIS COMIC RTF FUCKING NOW!
Fuck.
I mean, I knew Hckman was brilliant... his FF run at Marvel is rightfully legendary, his SECRET WARRIORS is too much fun, apparently the current SECRET WARS thing is better than anyone expected.... But this.... What this man can do when he's operating outside of licensed property... Fuck.
Also, really really nifty art from Dragnotta. A pleasure to look at.
Totally recofuckingmended.

I got Marvel Unlimited for a research project into Daredevil.

Before Miller stepped on with O'Neil, this was one of the worst written comics I've ever seen. Effin' Stilt Man?!?!

MU is missing massive chunks of Daredevil's overall run, including some of my favorite Chichester bits, so I'll need to find them in physical form or talk to someone who knows the stuff cold.

Or someone who knows the material well enough to recite it with their eyes closed.

What about Waid's stuff for DD? I've not read it, but he's usually a homerun hitter (his SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT is easily my fave Superman comic arc ever).

That comes later - I was mostly interested in the 90s versions of Daredevil and in particular, their treatment of Karen Page. All they have is the Miller runs and the Typhoid Mary segment of Nocenti's run. That totals about 15 issues. Nearly all of the 90s is not there and that's a shame because I know that Nocenti and Chichester had some very, very cool stuff. There are some things in the 80s that are missing that I suspect were really racist, so Marvel may not want those popping back up (African characters coming to NYC and abducting characters etc). I speculate that the missing 90s stuff is creator related, as in Chichester, Kesel, and Kelly do not want their stuff on the MU catalogs, but I cannot confirm that.

Waid started in 2011, but he didn't start straight from the previous continuity. The series got rebooted in 1998, hopped around a little and then Waid's run by itself is easy to find on the MU app. The series apparently got rebooted again in 2014.

I think I really do need to find someone who really knows their Daredevil (as Maark jokes about). The missing stuff is some of the most interesting and expansive in terms of the in-series universe and scope of social issues commented upon.

Yeah, I'll wager that's it for sure.

Your best bet to grab any of that might be trade bins at comic shops, or ebay sales. I'm sure you can find them and probably relatively cheaply. Every year at our Comic Con the bins of old 90's trades are filled to brimming with stuff that's being hawked at like $5 a book...I'm sure you could find deals like that online.

EDIT: Bunch of floppies up on Ebay. Not sure how invested you are.

It's really amazing. He has a 50 book run planned and I have been eyeballing the #1 RRP for sometime as I have all the variants <collectible wise>. I am really hoping he can continue it more than 50.

The next time I see him at a Con I am getting him to do a commission.

I want a Ballon!! I can't be the only one right??
It makes me laugh each time that they get a panel together.

Grabbed AQUAMAN Vol. 1: THE TRENCH and Vol. 2: THE OTHERS by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis (which are the first 12 issues of their New52 run) as I've heard nothing but good things and have never read them. They were each only $11 on Comixology.

Read the first issue of SECRET WARS...It was amazing! Jonathan Hickman, you magnificent bastard! I had planned to pikc this up in trade as I hadn't wanted to read it in floppies and wait for each isue...it's Hickman FFS, I gotta read his stuff in groups otherwise, withdrawal sets in....but of course now that I have issue #1, I gotta buy the rest. Sigh. Luckily they are all out now.

So. Fucking. Good.

Remender's BLACK SCIENCE. Trades 1 and 2.
Wow.
That's some pretty fucked up shit right there.
It's like Sliders + Fringe, as written by China Mieville smoking George RR Martin's beard.

Totally makes up for that Captain America run.

Not been reading any trad-comics lately, but Gunnerkrigg Court is kinda breaking my heart over the last couple of months.

I also did the entire archive binge of Girls with Slingshots over my summer break. As a slice-of-lifer I rather enjoyed it and was disappointed that it's ended so I don't actually have a new comic to add to my daily stack, though the end itself was slightly rushed (albeit since she plans to write in the universe again in future, it's not a killer, and it wasn't bad anyhow). Worth a read for fans of the likes of Questionable Content.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.
