Sorry Bonesaw, can't help you on that one. Metal ain't really my thing, though I am partial to some instrumental hard rock/metal or post-rock or whatever they call it these days. I wouldn't worry though, you'll get plenty of suggestions here.

@Bonesaw, judging by your list you like your metal hard and fast, although you also like a lot of the Gothenberg scene which is pretty boring imo... (I used to LOVE bands like In Flames, Arch Enemy etc. If you do like it, try Insomnium, Iced Earth or Dark Tranquillity. Not personal recommendations in that I am not a massive fan, but you might like them)
But Machine Head, Killswitch Engage or Bloodbath would probably fit nicely in with the rest of your music.

If you want some more variety however here are some bands and imo their best album:

Alter Bridge - Black Bird (not strictly metal but very good plus excellent guitarist);
Becoming the Archetype - Dichotomy;
Dark Suns - Existence;
Death - Sounds of Perseverance;
Devin Townsend - Ziltoid the Omniscient/Terria (the band Strapping Young Lad is his more heavy and Fast band...);
Disillusion - Back to Times of Splendor;
Dream Theater - Train of Thought;
Edge of Sanity - Crimson and Crimson II;
Enslaved - ISA/Vertebrae;
Evergrey - In Search of Truth;
Gojira - From Mars to Sirius;
Kekal - 1000 Thoughts of Violence;
Karnivool - Themata or Sound Awake (again, not strictly metal but so freaking awesome!);
Lykathea Aflame - Elvenfris (good luck getting a copy mind!!);
Mastodon - Crack the Skye (Blood Mountain also worth getting!);
Meshuggah - I;
Necrophagist - Epitaph;
Nightwish - Once/Dark Passion Play (Different singers, different vibes both good!);
Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked;
Opeth - Still Life/Ghosts of Perdition;
Orphaned Land - Mabool;
Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane (I prefer Be but that is so far away from what you might consider metal, it's probably worth getting into the band before you try it...);
Riverside - Rapide Eye Movement;
TesseracT - They only have a 3 track demo out AFAIK but its pretty good!;
Textures - Drawing Circles;
Turisas - Everything they have done! (Vikings and Wenches and Beer!);
Unexpect - Novae.

I don't expect you to like all of them, especially as some of them fall into the very weird category, but they should get you started. ;)

Ok a few more that i like as you seem to have similar tastes, Disarmonia mundi are good
5FDP (id recommend the first album "Way of the Fist" as the new albums a bit more popular sounding though it has a few good songs)

A couple more for you, from the "classic metal" scene: Judas Priests' Painkiller album and it might be worth getting something like the Greatest Hits of Megadeth, got some cracking tunes on there. :D
Oh, and "Night Marauders" by 3 Inches of Blood is an epic track. :D

And hell yeah Night Marauders is a wicked song. If I remember correctly (which I probably don't) that was the first song of the set played when I saw 3 inches play in a tiny bar with like 30 people. It was awesome, they were'nt on any sort of stage so you could just go up and slap hands with the dude!!

Oh shit, just saw they have a new CD out, will have to download that.
