The lyrics for the song in the second video are a poem by Rumi. From the English translation:
Quote
The garden's cold has left,
It asked for God's help,
And God obliged upon this request,
The state of lovers has now come,
The time of merriment and wine is here,
Sleeping is now haram,
The time of merriment's birth is here,
The time of flowers is upon us.
It asked for God's help,
And God obliged upon this request,
The state of lovers has now come,
The time of merriment and wine is here,
Sleeping is now haram,
The time of merriment's birth is here,
The time of flowers is upon us.

Two new Aldous Harding songs from her forthcoming album:
"Redrum" from The Shining is
She's hilarious... love the vocals (including the different voices she does) and the lyrics, though I don't love the piano parts...
I was a bit confused at first by "Call in at One Stop"---it turns out that in New Zealand, as in the UK,
Not so in the United States (IDK about Canada---AI tells me it's used in Canada but not common). So the image that "Call in at One Stop / Putting my things in a long line" conjured for me on my first few listens was of her literally calling someone to let them know she was coming and then putting her luggage in a long line---like maybe at a security checkpoint or a transit stop. The title of the album is Train on the Island (she actually grew up on both the South Island and the North Island (of NZ) and later moved to Wales, where she recorded all her recent albums, including this one).

Because part of what I (and many other people, I think---or at least the few I've seen express it) appreciate about her lyrics is the mystery, the elliptical apparent open-endedness. And the way it can evoke and encompass many different interpretations. So I'm reluctant to reduce it to a mundane "right answer"---even though in that particular song she's addressing prosaic life to some extent (in tension with imagination). She refuses to explain her lyrics iirc.
It's like when someone asked T. S. Eliot what he meant by "Lady, three white leopards sat under a juniper tree in the cool of the day…" ---he said: "it means 'Lady, three white leopards sat under a juniper-tree in the cool of the day'".

We set out to capture that soft, expressive sound of fingers on nylon strings, but this little library turned out to be far more versatile than we expected. From delicate cinematic textures and ambient soundscapes to modern scores and expressive fingerstyle, this guitar has a voice for it.

The drummer from Opeth helped create a virtual instrument version of his drum kit, as played by him, along with midi recorded from his live playing (no AI involved):
I could get this for "free", since I bought XLN's Custom XL collection about 7 years ago and have only selected 4 out of 6 free drum kits and 3 out of 6 free midi packs so far. But I've been waiting to pick my last two until I actually want to use them... and I want to see what else they might come out with.

Waltteri Väyrynen, drummer for Opeth [...] combining technical control with an unmistakably heavy, musical feel, his playing moves effortlessly from detailed progressive passages to full-force metal aggression.
[...] Waltteri's own kit, as heard on Opeth's "The Last Will and Testament", sampled in full. A drum sound designed for movement, detail, and control.

I do NOT know how I missed this late last year, but The Streets had a new single? And it's dope as hell? Mike Skinner is a genius.

Don't recall ever having heard of them before.
Given their name and style, I'd assumed the video was documenting the local architecture of whichever working class UK urban region they're from. (Though it seems a bit odd---at least from the US perspective---to see someone stressing his presumably working class background and "street"-ness sat down at a grand piano.)
Then I started thinking "that really is a lot of fancy architecture"... and noticed the tiny captions at the bottom left.
The video (I'd guess from their touring?) is a nice complement to the lyrics. In tension and resonance.
Skinner's rap flow is meh, though his lyrics are better.
The highlight of this song for me is Kevin Mark Trail's singing.
It reminds me of a quote from Henry James:
Quote
We work in the dark - we do what we can - we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion, and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art.
