Orphaned Land - Halo Dies (The Wrath of God)

I've fallen in love with this band... the oriental music infused with metal is epic...

OH MY GOODNESS FINALLY!!!

I have been raving about this band for years now! Seriously, if you think Mabool is good get Neverending Way of the ORwarriOR. Its even more epic. And this is me saying that who thought Mabool was one of the most life changing albums I had ever heard! I waited 5 long years for them to come out with ORwarriOR. It was like waiting for a GRRM book to come out but with slight less worry that they would die before it did...

heh don't worry I already have OrwarriOR...but if i wanted to write every single song i liked i would be better off just writing the whole track listing...seriously every single song in both Mabool and OrwarriOR is epic...and I dont know how you see it...but being from Syria and being exposed to oriental music since I was born,,and now seeing it infused so epicly with metal...and with biblical and epic themes...its just a dream come true..I mean i've never been a fan of oriental music up untill I first listened to OL...i mean they took all the musical heritage of this area and just made beautiful metal with it...they have all my respect..
I first heard of these guys when I recently saw the Global Metal documentary...then I checked them out and they've become one of my favorite bands. I can honestly say that these are the first band I liked thats not from the 80s-90s era...

Great stuff! Yeah I mean being brought up in Yorkshire I can't claim the same affinity to Oriental music but the way they blend the two apparently opposing worlds of music so effortlessly is sometimes breathtaking. Also, the lyrical, musical and thematic concepts are pretty deep and extremely well thought out and intelligent. I could go on. And on and on and on and on, but needless to say I had tickets to see them in London and I couldn't go and I don't think I have ever cried so much... :p

I have them somewhere but only listened to them a couple of times as I remember they weren't a patch on Mabool (I started listening to the band when Mabool had just come out so I guess I was making the comparison that if this was their latest it must be a culmination of the previous two so I guess I went into them with too high expectations) I will try and find them and if I do I will send them to you. I don't think they are as good, though if you have the special edition of Mabool they have accoustic versions of a bunch of songs from their second album "El Nora Aila" or something... :( Will let you know!

Blind Guardian - Sacred Worlds

I really like this album. It's not quite as good as Night At The Opera or Nightfall in Middle-Earth, but it's just as good if not better than A Twist In The Myth or Imaginations From The Other Side. They'll never top those two albums, though.

Plus Sacred has now been made 3 times as epic as it was before. Oh yeah. :(
