I like Underoath, but most screamo doesn't appeal to me. Circle Takes The Square are absolutely awful.

So I went got an Opeth album today, their new one.
And I'd have to say it definately is NOT my cup of tea, while I dont mind a fair amount of rock out there (generally alternative) and a little heavy metal as well, this took about 5-8 seconds me to just really dislike.
I think maybe im more towards the progressive heavy metal stuff rock.
As well a whole buch of other stuff like said song up top.

Never heard the term screamo before, but I think I know what it means in terms of music genres. Nope, that's nothing for me, as soon as the 'singer' starts screaming too much, I quit :hand:

Their are a couple of genres that came out of punk. In the beginning of the '80 there was hardcore, which was punk played with heavier riffs and more brutal vocals. Then a couple of years later came emo(hardcore), basicly this is hardcore music style with 'emotional' vocals. It difines itself with high pitched screams. Later when 'emo' become popular halfway thru the '90 the real emo crowd started calling their music style 'screamo' and they added more epic sounding parts in it (this is something Circle takes the square do very good as can be heard on the song A crater to cough in which starts almost acoustic and then builds up to the screaming part).
