I'm having some issues with the different accounts of the events leading up to the Ritual of Tellann, concerning these three... They just don't gel.
Onrack says he was due to be banished from his tribe, but the very day the sentence was to have taken effect, four Jaghur tyrants rose up together. That last night was when he and Kilava had their one-night-stand, and the next day the Ritual was held, but Kilava killed all her kin - except Tool, whom she couldn't defeat - and fled. (Pp 671-672, HOC, pb.)
Onos T'oolan, on the other hand, says his two brothers led hunters to the north and never returned. He also says that Logros was chosen commander at the Gathering, and expected the support of Kilava, but was weakened when she defied the Ritual. This suggests that Kilava actually went to the Gathering in the first place, which isn't the impression I got from Onrack's tale. (Pp 312-313 of MOI, pb.)
Then there's the meeting of Kilava and Pran Chole in the prologue of MOI, which really throws off the timeline. Pran Chole and his tribe are on their way to the Gathering, but Kilava has already not only broken free of her clan, but also "lost" the child - and since the Whirlwing goddess tells us that this child was the ancestor of the human race, I don't think it was lost as in a miscarriage. That would suggest at least nine months passing, assuming that Tlan Imass had the same gestation length as their human descendants. The story of her killing her whole family (except Tool) is also known to Pran Chole already, so clearly some amount of time has passed. Oh yeah, and once again we have Kilava breaking off long before the Gathering took place, so why would Logros have expected her support? (Pp 33-34, MOI, pb.)
I haven't read BH yet, so if there's anything in there that throws light on this, please tell me it exists (but don't spoil me).

There are issues with the time line as you point out. But I believe that Onrack and Kilava had several children not just the one; that is their affair might have lasted for years and not just the one night. Didn't the Whirlwind goddess, Dryjhna, say "I stole them from her, the bitch? (Of course Kilava might have had twins, I just can't remember that part of the prologue.) Certainly after 300000 years cause and event might have got a little blurred, but I do think it is reasonable to infer that the Tellan ritual was protacted, it ran over months if not years. Anyway, I should check on Kilava's children(?).
