I don't think QB will die. Or perhaps I hope he won't die. I also think Karsa is safe, because I think he gets to go and reform the Toblakai.

Hi anyone just registered and reading through the threads.

Thought I would add my 2p's worth on Fiddlers age, and also who I think will survive and in what form. If this is covered elsewhere apologies but I haven't read everything yet.

Based on the conversations between Whiskyjack and Rake in MoI, I gained the impression that the bridgeburners were changed in a number of ways (positive and negative) during their pursuit of Kalam and Quickben across Raraku. One of which was they aquired an element of timelessness/unchanging - a feature of the desert - which causes them to be difficult to kill and slow to age.

Also the comments from Fiddler about not believeing that Braven Tooth was still alive given how long it had been since he had been through basic training implies that he is a number of years (say 20) than he appears. I agree that there are time inconsistencies in GotM, but a 35 year old who looked 15 would fit with Paran's perception. Also given SE's tendency to write from the individuals viewpoint, Paran would go by appearance especially as a nobles son he was not experienced in the world e.g. he thought that the smell of roasting pork was an abbatoir rather than dead people.

As to who will live I think that Paran will, but his sister will not - giving him loads of grief, also he seems to maintain his humanity while all around him are losing theirs hence makes a good character to feel the deaths at the end.

Traveller - if he has the will to wield the sword.

Felisin the younger - given the quotes from her books.

Grub , Nether and Nel given the writings.

Temul from Duijker's comments.

Coltain from Duijkers comments and his age.

Djuiker - I feel he may be the "narrator" voice.

I also think that there will be very few Ascendents left the only ones I think are certain are; Burn, Shadowthrone, Drek and Fener.

Fiddler will I think, but when he dies he goes and joins the Bridgeburners.

Kalam will die defending Lasseen.

Quickben will dissappear - possibly to come back as an alias as he has done at least twice

Mallet will not survive.

Not sure about the rest yet still thinking.

Cheers

Luder
