He's Big!
He's Red!
His feet stick out the bed!
It's Peter Crouch!
It's Peter Croooooooouch!!!
Can't wait. Getting the beers in after work, then the whole house will be watching firat game on our 48" Plasma.
1 - Germany. You can never count out the germans, also it's home advantage.
2 - Some much unknown player will rise to stardom as usual for the World CUp.
3 - Dunno =/
4 - I'm pretty sure they'll get through, annoyingly.

Well, that was a nice way to kick off the tournament. Me and another housemate cheering for Germany, two others for Costa Rica. Though basically we just wanted to see a good game. We all went ballistic when Wanchope scored. . . and again!!!
You can never count out the German's but with a defence like they seem to have atm once they get out of the first round they are going to be under serious pressure from some top quality strikers and Midfielders. How good were the golas though? O_O
Tempo looks set to be good for the rest of the World Cup.

Ohmigod that was a hell of a game. Two teams committed to attack and completely unable to defend. Nightmare for the purists but highly entertaining for us neutrals. And what a goal from Frings
Winner - Brazil
Player - Ronaldinho or possibly Messi if he is fit
Worst - Togo or the Saudis
France - Not if they play like they did in their qualifying group

A good game to start with some very nice goals...as they said in the studio afterwards, you could almost have a goal of the day competition, never mind goal of the tournament! I have Klose on my fantasy football team too! Lucky me.
Winner: Argentina, to beat England in the final
Best Player: I've heard very good things about Messi...
Worst Team: Saudi Arabia
France to progress: yes
An England fan, but I'm expecting Argentina to win it this year. Their defence is far superior to Brazil's, and I don't think England will score two goals in the last 5 minutes this time.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Found this on the BBC website...thought it was interesting:
Vox
BBC said:
England have won every match that Peter Crouch has appeared in. Since he made his debut in 2003, England have played without Wayne Rooney on 10 occasions and did not lose a single match, winning nine and drawing one.

Worst would probably be the Saudis. Who was it that defined the World Cup as that thing where a whole bunch of teams from all over the world play, and Germany wins? Hope not, but there we are.
I wouldn't bet on them, but I'm rooting for Trinidad/Tobago as the Cinderella team that _ought_ to win, if someone is passing a miracle.

They choked. They do that a lot. Didn't help that the 4-5-1 formation wasn't working, since Zurawski had to drop so deep to get the ball he couldn't do much with it.
They decided to wake up for the last ten minutes, and we could had two or three then - why could we not do it for the whole game?
Also, on England - Sven is possibly the only manager who could be that frustrating while winning.

Yeah they did seem to... they were okay till they went behind and then just faded out, other than for that late rally, but it wasn't enough
Yep .. that's too true .. Paraguay start playing better so we take a striker off and encourage them to come at us as we sit back

Didn't look like any of the english players had any stamina to follow up an attack anyway, so they might as well sit back and safe it in. Looked like it worked too. Paraguay didn't have a decent chanse to speak of in the second half.
Legalise drugs! And murder!
