I think the Empty Throne is the Hold of Death in Lether - and that Hood, Wanderer of the Empty Hold, finally got his hands on it at the end of MT.

edit: I realise that may seem a little "out there" though. I'm sticking with it.

"the knight of the hold of dragons, soon to cross blades with his own vengance"

Seems from what I've read across many threads that most people are leaning towards Rake vs Traveller because Traveller now bears The Sword Vengance, which is Rake's old blade.

However that just seems too pat for me.

Silchas Ruin could well hold the title Knight of Dragon Hold. And Silchas Ruin is hunting for Bloodeye, to take his revenge.

So what if Fear - for example - is possessed by Bloodeye, and then fights (i.e crosses swords) with Ruin. This would lead nicely to a later scrap between Ruin and Rhulad, the latter taking on "his brother's killer" as per the Reaper's Gale Amazon summary.

It seems pretty clear that Rake is Knight of both Darkness and the Dragon Hold. Ruin is "Blood-Drinker" in the MT reading, someone distinct from the Knight of Dragon Hold.

I always took this one to mean that the Saviours start out as the Saviours, then end up being seen as the Betrayers for trying to be the Saviours.

This brings Trull to mind immediately, who tries to open the eyes of the Edur people, and fails because they do not want their eyes opened. He is then shorned and erased from Edur history by Rhulad, thus he becomes the betrayer.

The only other person I can think of who might fit this role is Hull Beddict. If I remember correct, he pretty much loves Seren Pedac, and he faces Trull, and feels betrayed when Trull sleeps with her? Not to mention that he believes he's saving Letherii from more trouble than is necessary by supplying the Edur with information.

in a bigger context, it sounds like the nameless ones, but thats also taking it out of context with the rest of the stuff as well

To me this suggests the Jheck and the andii spirits, both of whom have come from the icefields of the North. Though it could equally refer solely to the andii spirits, as it fits them more exactly, and the andii are split between those who MUST follow the Edur, and those who work agaisnt them and are not bound

Just rereading MT. Although I have a hard time giving up worthy Kruppe, QB and Kalem as favorites, Tehol, Bugg and Shurq have to make this my favorite book. Very delightful.

Anyway, back on topic:

How about if the wanderers are the Sengar brothers that broke through the Jheck to get to the sword. Which comes with cold darkness and a deadly embrace?
