"Slayer of the Ten Thousand" refers to Imass, I think.

The dead Imass on the Bone Stair were killed by the Jaghut under the glacier - the patchy understanding we have of the events there are

Imass-Jaghut war on Laederon-Plateau, heavy losses on Imass by (sole?) Jaghut
Icarium & Calm turn up to stop the war (Icarium-by negotiation, Calm-by killing everyone)
Imass know they cannot defeat either of these two, so team up with Icarium - in spite of his Jaghut descent - to imprison Calm.

Result - Calm imprisoned, Jaghut still living under glacier, Imass leave, so does Icarium

Icarium did not fight those Imass, but he has definitely slain others.

Why would the Imass want Calm dead instead of Icarium?

Is it simply because Calm was violent and a threat at the time while Icarium was still in "Nice" mode?

The Imass knew they could not, on their own, defeat Icarium (so this was presumably after his slaying of the ten thousand) or Calm.

The difference is that Icarium would have wanted to prevent further bloodshed by seeking peace through negotiation, whereas Calm sought the FA "peace" which is simply defined as "everyone else is dead".

So the Imass had a common goal with Icarium - stopping Calm. No doubt they would've quite happily killed both Iccy and Calm, but they were unable to do so.

So, basically, the answer to your second question is yes.
