Hello all, I am new to this wonderful series and these forums as well.
I am reading Gardens for the second time at the moment and something struck me as curious.
When Kalam and Quick Ben are fighting with the Tiste Andii while trying to make contact with the assassin's guild, Ben uses a vial which produces a demon. The demon introduces itself as "Pearl".
I have only read books one and two so far but I remember in book 2 there being a character that was known as "Pearl". (I wont go into details so as to not provide any spoilers, but those of you that have read it know who I am talking about).
Is it a coincidence that the demon and the character we meet later has the same name? Did I miss something or is it explained later?
Perhaps it is just a weird thing I noticed that means nothing........

Hoa I think it doesn't mean anything. But thats just because ( I'm German) I read GotM only in the German version (I switched to english at MT) and in the German version the demon is named (iirc, long since i read GotM) 'Tautropfen' what would make something like 'Dewdrop' or something in English.

It's just a coincidence I think. But please, crazy theories are always welcome and appreciated. :cool:

It's just a coincidence. There's no close relation.
Probably just a common nickname, like "Bob", or "Bill", or "Rastapopulus".

Technically, this is more DG question than a GotM one, as Pearl the assassin doesn't appear until DG.
