At the end of bonehunters when the tlan imass comes to retreive his sword he calls i think it is braven tooth, sheild anvil, i wonder which cut he was sheild anvil for, and if so where is his army?

Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

he was also dead when he took all the souls from the jade giant, treach died to become a god, death doesn't mean the end. =P

In the glossary in the back of TBH, it says that a Shield Anvil has to be mortal. So that rules out Heboric.

Any ideas who Treach's Destriant might be, since apparantly Heboric never was?

Stormy is near ascended anyway, so it would be somewhat of a bummer for treach to make him his shield anvil. In addition, I doubt Stormy, a follower of Fener would take up Treach's mantle. I know heboric did so, but then his situation was more... complicated.
I like the theory that Stormy is the Shield Anvil of Fener and that Fener's soul or whatever is hidden inside him. Transfered through the touch of Heboric in DHG

Obviously death has changed Heboric. As with all of SE's books - there are always multiple possibilities with some of them being red herrings. I think there is another possibility about what Heboric has become after death: Heboric becomes the Sheild Anvil for the Jade Giants or whatever god/ascendent/force it represents.
(I don't have BH in front of me and my memory of Heboric throughout the books isn't very good.)

I had understoods that as part of the bargain with Paran, Hood returned Heboric's soul long enough for him to reach out and release the souls trapped in the jade chunks. That being done, he returned to 'dead'. Now of course, of course, in this series 'dead' may just be a step to something else.
As for Stormy, i figured he was, once or still, Shield Anvil to Fener. As of his first appearance in DG, that status may have become 'inactive', because at a minimum we know the Itkovian was serving in the same role. And we don,t know whether a god can have more than one, tho really, if the god is willing to leave themselves that vulnerable, i don't see why not.
Breed's comment, 'you are not done with this world, Shield Anvil', is interesting. It suggests Stormy is tired of his life, but still has something to accomplish. And lest we forget, it's possible that whatever fled into him when Heboric healed him in DG may have been Fener, or Jade Giant related.

A thought that just struck me:
Shield Anvil: repository for the souls of the fallen
Fenner: fallen god
What if the reason Stormy is called shield anvil is that he has fenner inside him (might also work if it's souls from the jade giants inside him)?
