I've always found the mules to be fascinating. Offspring of a male donkey and a female horse and almost always sterile (due to chromosome mismatches). The female mule can carry a fetus, but this is implanting.
The converse (male horse and female donkey) is called a hinny. I guess donkeys swing both ways in Malaz, but stallions are picky.
The sex of the two mules is not given thus far, it may not be a factor.
I'd be very curious to see how the mules interact with Havoc.
The relationship with the geldings might be of interest as well - I was surprised that a gelding would rip off anyone's face. Stallions yes, geldings... if you want someone's face destroyed you'd have a better chance with a mule - at least the animal is whole. The whole point of gelding a horse is to calm the damn beasts down, make them manageable.
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if both mules are 'possessed' by Eres or Eres'al, given what we've seen thus far in BH.
