* Bump* ;)

'Treach was a First Hero', Heboric replied. 'A Soletaken who escaped the slaughter. Like Ryllandaras and Rikkter, Tholen and Denesmet. Don't you see? These ghost soldiers - they did not worship Treach!. no, their god of war belonged to the Seven, who would one day become the Holies. A single visage of Desimbelackis - that and nothing more!' I'm suprised every body missed this. The person who occupies this throne is the same person who occupies every other empty throne... wait for it.......
Shadowthrone.
His goal has been alluded to being occupying every throne and then doing nothing with it as a way of denying the power to any others. This is why he is looking quite ragged throughout BH. He is stretched so thin. He has been using the confusion created by the crippled god to consolidate all godly power within himself. Cotillion pretty much confirms this when he thinks to himself that they have done this before and successfully.
SO I surmise that when Treach as well as Togg and Fanderay reached the Beast Perch, they found that it's power had already been claimed. This is why there is some confusion in the house.

Now as to Hood and the deal he made with Paran, I don't think we can understand this yet as we don't have enough information. It has to have something to do with Dassem Ultor though and Hood's motivations in the taking of Dassem's sister. We don't know what this was all about yet so we are gonna have to wait to find out. Hood has been very active in the books so far but his motivations are still unclear.

I thought the deal with Hood had something to do with Heboric. Or are you talking about the price Hood was asking in return...?

jammer: if thats the case then why did heboric said that the beast throne is filled and beware the soletaken among them for the beast gods might claim their allegience..

also the grey swords sworn to the wolves of winter would not have the ability to call uppon silverfox to release the t'ay unless the wolves really are on the beast throne..

the raggedness of st is due to his runnign about like a chicken
and that its been their plan to claim all the throne and not sit on it.
the moment anyone sit on the throne, they claim it for htemselves and cause ripple in the ranks of powers
thats why st and dancer has to give up their malaz thrones after taking on shadowhold, they already hold the first throne.
with teh malaz throne, it will cause a convergence and power draws power

i don;t believe your theory is correct

This is far fetched but...Coulnd Kalam be the mercenary?
Lets look at this way. ST came and personaly helped Kalam get into the azat.
On top of that we know that he had many tribulations, which many acendants went through. He was also a BB so he is on his waay to become an ascendant. It would be just like ST and Cotilion to put someone whom they know and can trust (some what) in the the house of war

I could be wrong though, but hey you never know what might happen with SE.

Ummm ....... I don't think ST could put someone in any house other than his own, but I do think he could help keep him alive for his own purposes, whatever house Khalam may or may not belong to. ;)
