Finally got a reviewof Leviathan Wakes up. It was good. I've also got forthcoming reviews for Blackdog by K.V. Johansen and The Whitefire Crossing by Courtney Schafer. I'm currently reading Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch.

Finished Sullivan's PERCEPLIQUIS. I loved it, and now I'm actually kind of gutted like I was post-TCG. It was such a stellar finish to the series.

Have started DEEP SKY by Patrick Lee now, but I may take some time getting into it simply because I'm not ready to let go of Riyria yet.

Finished Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami and I really enjoyed it. Will definitely be reading more of his books.

Just finished Patrick Lee's 3rd Breach novel DEEP SKY and it melted my rain into a little puddle of excellence. Loved it!

Starting on Christopher Farnsworth's second Nathaniel Cade novel THE PRESIDENT'S VAMPIRE. Looking fwd to it since I loved BLOOD OATH.

THE PRESIDENT'S VAMPIRE by Chris Farnwsworth...so far. BADASSERY of the highest caliber. Only the 3rd book I've read this year and already it's shaping up to be awesome.

About to read ACADEM'S FURY, the second CODEX ALERA book. I had (very) low expectations of book one, but so far I'm really enjoying Codex Alera, even the first book wasn't that bad

About to start into Michael J. Sullivan's first volume/omnibus thingy, THEFT OF SWORDS. Bought it solely on the basis of the mad ravings of QuickTidal and Werthead on this very board. Their rec's have turned me onto a few series i might otherwise not have seen, so fingers crossed I'll enjoy it.

It has a tough act to follow since the last book i read was WISE MAN"S FEAR by Pat Rothfuss and I loved that.

I'm currently reading The Man Who Saved Britain: A Personal Journey Into The Disturbing World Of James Bond by Simon Winder. It's actually billed on the front as "A Simon Winder Production" and has a Maurice Binder pastiche cover which is absolutely spot on. I bought it at a second hand bookstall for £1.

At first I thought it would be a rather jokey history of all things Bond (the films being something of a British institution and a rather guilty pleasure of mine) but what it actually turns out to be is an utterly scathing attack on the post-Imperial/post-WW2 British mindset as seen through the lens of Ian Fleming's life and his most famous creation. It's become a much stranger and far more fascinating book than I was expecting.

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. I finished THE PRESIDENT'S VAMPIRE by Farnsworth last night. I enjoyed it, though it didn't go in the direction I thought it would and there were a few oddities (of which I'll go into in my full review as they aren't spoilers, simply oddities in the chapter preludes), but overall if I had to qualify these first 2 books in the series....they are like STORM FRONT and FOOL MOON...where you can see great potential, but it's not quite there yet...it's on the verge and could go either way. The 3rd book will tell me if this is going to stand the test of time (since Farnsworth has said he has ten books in his head for it right now). We shall see.

After that I finally polished off Neil Gaiman's YA novella ODD & THE FROST GIANTS on the way to work this morning, and it was great fun and as enjoyable as Gaiman always is to me. I was holding off on reading it since I will now have to wait for new Gaiman prose novel as long as it takes him to write the AMERICAN GODS sequel. I still have the rest of SANDMAN to get to though.

Anyways, tonight I will probably start the WILD CARDS I collection edited by GRRM, as I think there are a few collections now and plenty to read. I like the idea behind anyways, so we'll see.

Just finished The Breach by Patrick Lee and it will be very hard not reading Ghost Country and Deep Sky directly after...but I really shouldn't ^_^

Damn fine book if partially obvious when you get into it.

It's over. It's really over. Finished The Escapement at four this morning. I liked it, but I think I'm going to avoid Parker's trilogies from here on out. Just too draining, and not in a good way. Finally reading Warbreaker as a reward.
